Its taking so loooooooooooooong for my char to be confirmed and im kinda desperate to play.....

Good good. well i will give you a quick basic lesson here..
ig typing the following:
#w message = whispering to person up to 2 squares around you
#s message = shouting up to a couple of screen lengths away.
#i = introducing your char. (your chars name will appear on their screen from then on.
ooc (out of character) should always be in double brackets and rarely used unless neccesary..
for example:
guy: i am the head of the magic academy, my name is blah blah
other guy: ((#i please))
and your char should only talk like they should.. not going around asking how do they play etc. that should be done in double brackets.
