Too many pushed GM or Questchars, especially mages
Recently we have a mass of pushed mage chars appearing ingame, and it starts to annoy me really. Magic was changed to be something not everyone has, to have just a few mages ingame. but now at every corner you may ran into a pushed magechar, with abilitys far over the ones a player mage char can ever receive. But best is they start or are involed in happenings in which you are powerless to do anything, sicne they are pushed.
Best example a drow who wants to start a new blackstone cult...normally from the view of rp we should exctinct them, but no...that is a pushed char who would kill us all. thats frustrating since you have to accept it, and shut up, or you will die. You have not really much chances.
The char #mes armor and weapons. like being a warrior, but the next second he summons undeads. and laughs about your attemps to do anything against him
But that happens also on other spots. When those pushed chars bully you around and you can do few against it. accept it, and shut up, or you will meet the cross.
I belief there should be less maximum pushed questchars involved in everything. it is also not fair for that players who work hard to get a well build char, and than got pwned at every corner by a pushed questchar. Not just mages, but warriors aswell.
It feels like being a puppet for them

Don't you know? We *are* puppets. *tugs on strings attached to Samantha's body.*
When nothing is happening, everyone says that the game grows through the players. When quests happen, it becomes apparent that it is almost compulsory to have "uber" characters in order to get anything done (pathetic, I know). Perhaps if people would stop worrying about "Questing" (which makes this game sound like a Pay-to-Play knock-off), we wouldn't have to worry so much about these overly powerful characters that mould the world without any interaction from us.

You know what? There is just no winning with this community.
Everyone complained about the fighting system, so Nitram and team fixed it, and everyone whined again.
Everyone whined that there weren't enough quests and that other players didn't provide enough of a challenge, so you get more quests and now you whine there is too much.
Why bother trying to please anyone?

How about try something BESIDES Ctrl+Click for a change!
Oh, so if example, some super mage attack the town in a quest, you want to arrange that peacefully ot with RP? I already see the thing
xxx gets behind the mage and kick his chin.
xxx : Return to the yellow cross to get resurrected.

Well the idea of "pushed" chars as you call them is to encourage players to use methods of quest solving besides ctrl+click.
If all you want is ctrl+click there is no point in us spending time to make quests, we'll just increase the number of monster spawns on the map.
Would that stop the whining?
Of course I have a feeling what this topic is actually about.
Samantha doesn't like not being the strongest mage.

know what's weird, i made a quest a while back that involved everything but ctrl clicking (well, at least frot he main part, some monsters would get spawned sometimes though), yet when ia sked loralyn about it, she never respodned, and according to japtheth when i asked him, they didnt want to do it. Thats why i hate that the quest group decides anything that goesa on, back in the day id just bug estralis and/or japtheth and/or aegohl (this was quite a bit back ni the day, mind you
), and bam, a week later we've got a quest! Back in those days i probably thought up of half the quests, but these days i dont like dealing with a quest group that never responds to me...

I don't really see this as a CTRL+Click vs Other, because quests have only employed a narrow range of things, and one of the favorites seems to be the use of extraordinary characters, who usually come out of nowhere, and usually have some type of cliche reasons why they can't be destroyed. Then an overly complex and drawn out method needs to be completed to get rid of them. I'm not saying this about every quest, just from observation of the bigger ones.
Or, we could just look at all suggestions in the most cynical way possible, that's cool too.

The way to fix a huge chunk of it is to remove fighting skills entirely. Most people whine about fighting skills and how all the monsters killed them or they killed them too quickly.
"My Char has XXX Sword He is supposed to own this Troll! But the respawn is fast by approximatly 1.3 seconds so my character died!
"
Then someone else chimes in
"Sif n00b, respawns happen in 7.654 seconds, I can't powergame as quickly if they go to slow, then my character can't pwn the orc hordes!!"
Scratch skill entierly, base the fighting system entirely on character traits, weapons, armor etc.
Quests with uber characters occur because people want to show how freaking awesome they are at killing things. In actuality all the fighting system does is reward characters who have the time to play all night and learn the inner workings of a system that is supposed to be based off of real life, where you can't determine how many swings on XXXX monster can raise your fighting skill be 3 hues of blue.

This topic is highly silly.
Our chars are forced to kill drows, its your choice, just because you cant kill this one do not complain. If the leader was an Orc you would say the same things.Best example a drow who wants to start a new blackstone cult...normally from the view of rp we should exctinct them, but no...that is a pushed char who would kill us all. thats frustrating since you have to accept it, and shut up, or you will die. He also #me'd having a bow, and a warrior can be a necromancer, anything is possible. He summoned the undead to test people who thought they were strong, was our choice. Whats wrong with rping a giant strong drow anyway? Just like you rp having fire that can kill in an instant. Both being true. The char #mes armor and weapons. like being a warrior, but the next second he summons undeads. and laughs about your attemps to do anything against him
Quest chars are given no pwning skills, maybe defensive ones to stop sarcastic mages blasting them to show off etc.I belief there should be less maximum pushed questchars involved in everything. it is also not fair for that players who work hard to get a well build char, and than got pwned at every corner by a pushed questchar. Samantha Meryadeles is pushed herself by this Questchars. You hold some powerful artifacts, given to you.
Magic is not just for you, but also for evil chars, who are not able to join your Academy.
The purpose of this Questchars is to support players, and not for amusement of GMs, or to push you around.
This being said, I will lock this nonsense.
