How do I get my icon to appear in these boards?

I can't seem to get my signature icon to appear in these boards. I've tried http link and uploading directly. Tried as .GIF and as .PNG. Is there a different size limit or something? It's fairly small.

Edit your profile and go to the section "avatar", enter your url at the edit field.

That's stragne, I did that and it didn't take for me. I tried uploading it, etc... the picture was uploaded, but it it showed as an X, but now it appears.

That is happening to me too... everytime I log in on the forums I have to update the profile again... why is that happening?

Does anyone know where I can put my picture and be allowed to link it from another website? I cant seem to get my avatar working... I think its because of that... Alatar said he can see it, but I cant and neither can Dyluck or Lanthromire, so something should be wrong.. please, any ideas are welcome.

Well... I'd attempt to upload it into 20m.com, and try to use it from there.
That's what I'd do, but I am not sure if it helps.

I can not see Kalypse's icon.

When I had uploaded mine I could not see it then either. But now I see my icon when someone else uploaded it.

I'm using IE 6.0.2800.1106

Strange, I viewed teh page source and found the link to Kalypse's icon, and I went to that page directly:

and when I came back here, now I can see Kalypse's icon.

Again strange, when I posted this message, and viewed it, I saw the icon in the message, then I hit <ctrl>F5 to reload the page, and it became an X again, then I went to the picture directly again, and it appears again.

Seems to be some bug in I.E.

Yes Serpardum, I guess it is... that is exactly what happens to me... I can see it once I reload it on the profile, but after I log in again I cant see it anymore... I wish I had an idea of how to fix it..

I believe this has to do with the server, which the file is on, blocking hotlinks. I can only access the image from a blank window, not from Serpardums link. Once accessed the image might be in cache and therefore visible.

Well, the only thing is, the exact same thing happened to my link, which is hosted on my ISP at my home page. After Alatar linked it, it worked.

Maybe it's something to do with the way the links are formed?

Well I think I can solve Kalypse's problem. Since you have a geocities site you could put your avatar in the "photo album". You can reach it through the file manager. Then the rest is simple. Don't forget the size limitations.

I do beleive , if you had a icon before... and you want to change it, check the delete box doodad and the upload it... or else it will give you errors (if anyone had the same sort of problem as me).

I dislike the whole pictures thing anyway. It takes my browser forever to load, just to get a picture loaded that gives me no information I wanted to get when I accessed the website.
The pictures on the website are bearable, because they are loaded only once and are cached then. The always changing pictures of the players are loaded new everytime a new player appears or someone changes his picture.
