I hate to begin a debate, but if the people who are running for positions won't even vote for themselves, should WE really vote for them ? If they have not the confidence to say, yes they are the best thing for the elven community and vote for themselves, can we truely say and think they are the best for the elven community ?

If Taylor whose blood is only half what is should be can vote, then I request the privelige of voting be extended to myself, whose blood runs the same.
If granted, I will vote for only one candidate. Count the vote twice if you wish, but I do not feel anyone else is suitable for the responsibilty.
As such, my vote is:
Dravish

Not at all do I think that Dravish. I would feel that the elven to be councilors are not afraid of voting for themselves and looking like they want to win. It is a sad trend that current elven politics forces the hands of would be councilors to not vote for themselves, in stead write a simple post about how others are better suited and vote for them instead.

It is a matter of respect and honourability, Garett. By no means am I afraid to vote for myself, knowing that I can accomplish the tasks set before an elder. However, I also feel that by accepting the nomination, we have all declared our faith in ourselves and as such, is in its own way a vote. To now vote for ourselves seems fairly redundant and unnecessary.

I hereby cast my vote.
One for the gorgeous Avareniah Igdrasil, whom is allmost as beautiful as she is wise, wich speaks not of little.
My second one goes to sir Dravish, even if I know little of him, what I know speaks of why he is my second vote.
I hope the voting turns out well, and I for one hope to see you all around Tol Vanima or any other place in the world.
May our paths soon cross

I know I should have spoken up before, but I have only yet recently come to a full realisation. Should we let the former lich Dravish become elder? Only so little time has passed since his deeds were amongst the most horrid upon Gobaith, and yet we so trustingly vote him in.
I can understand that we are giving Dravish a second chance by letting him upon the lands of Tol Vanima, but to trust him as one that will guide us through the millenia sounds too soon for me.
I for one, will not adhere to the results brought forth by these elections if there is not an indepth debate about this.

I do recall asking that discussions not be brought up on this parchment. However, I suppose such was inevitable.
I would like to remind everyone that Dravish is not the only one among us with a questionable past. In fact, I can think of very few who are without one. His is simply more known among us. It is this kind of predjudice I feel that drives others to follow similar paths. Do not forget the past, but do not dwell on it either. I have trust in Dravish, and judging by this election it seems others do as well.
I am sorry there are some who feel otherwise, and that some have felt they need to withdrawl from the election. Because such a large percent of votes was lost, those who cast votes for a withdrawn candidate may change one of their votes.
Isilwen Anrion

I think this refers to me, and I do think being a lich, and even before being a lich being an elf who is demeaning to the other races, and had a knack for violence, torture and hurt is a humongous questionable past. Do not be so naive Isilwen, it does not suit you.
And you Garett should not say anything. How many times have you visited Tol Vanima in the first place? Precisely.

Mr. Gwenour casts a vote in an Elder election for humor, and judges the rest of us as unfitting to vote? This seems highly paradoxical to me.
As for my own part, I voted for Dravish because I believe that the council of Elders should represent every elf on Vanima, and there are certainly those that follow his views, as well as those that prefer Misjilah's views, or Avareniah's views, or even my own.
Since Dravish has withdrawn from the race however, I would like to recast my vote for him to represent myself instead. I do this not in selfishness, but because I believe in my abilities to provide valuable insight and represent my people.
Sincerely,
El'Daranae Artemetus

As stated before, most of us have done things in the past we would not wish brought up. It seems more like slander than anything else in times of important decisions.
Seeing as how Dravish has withdrawn, I will recast my secondary vote for Misjilah Mehialho. We require boldness to make decisions. I felt that Dravish was the most bold of all of us and thought that a good reason, amongst others that I am certain Lady Anrion does not wish discussed in depth. I hope that Misjilah will prove equally bold and wise in this position.

Cain S. Freemont

Lapiz,
It is not an election involving Isilwen, as it seems to be decided that she will remain an elder. We are voting for the replacement of two, not three.
Damien (or that's who I assume it is since the name E'Daranae is scratched out on your previous vote),
This is why I did not vote for you. Your presumptions are simply too clouded with your own views for me to consider you a serious candidate in this election. Far too stubborn and far too dismissive of anyone who does not agree with you. This would make for very harmful decisionmaking with the other future elders.

Thank you for your trust and your prejudices, Cain. It is interesting to hear that from a person who does not have contact with me at all. Amusing, it is - i would expect such behaviour more from a human.
This only shows that many of us have adopted far too much to hasty-living, human ways. Many of us have even lost their identity, their sense for their heritage, while even others stiffen themselves in their pride, judging individuals for their race only, forgetting about all tolerance, even becoming hasty themselves this way.
It is an imbalance we do need to balance out. The founding of Vanima was the first step to create a calm place where we can relax, think and meditate, and live, even follow the traditions. But what we really need, is something more, so much is true.
But never with haste.
It's not my personal goal to become elder again, for there are enough other things which need my attention, and i have been the only somewhat active one for too long for my taste - although i would do the task if necessary, so you may call me lazy now if you want. But whoever becomes elder, will have my support and my help, even if it would have been Dravish - who's points definitely are somewhat necessary.
We should not discuss here, but concentrate on the important thing, the voting.
Lapiz, you can see a list of those who are electable on the very top of this whole parchment.
