my friend Ssssam.
Greetings one and all from Ellaron, druid merchant. I would just like to introduce a lizardman who came to me as a youngster, became a very close friend and is as close to me as family. Ssssam is his name though you can call him Sam. Sam isn't his real name as that's long and hard to pronounce. The name Sam is a nickname he got in his youth. He was hard working and whenever anyone asked if someone was doing a certain job, Sam would reply "Yes I am" but because of his way of speaking it came out as " yeah sssam" and so the name stuck. I'll be the first to admit he's not the brightest button on the jacket but his heart is the truest I've ever come across. So if you come across him give him a nod and say hello.
Well my worst fears are founded. Sam has only been in trollsbane for a few days and you've turned him from a kind hearted, helpfull being into a quivering frightened wreck. I warned you he isn't very bright and asked you to be kind, but no. So far he's been accused of attacking a Dwarf, been pushed around, and called, amongst other things, a thief. As a merchant I have to be civil to you people but sometimes you make it very hard.
It is partly the fault of my half brother and me I suppose. Because Sam is, how shall I put it, "special" in the ways of the mind, we have sheltered him perhaps too much. He doesn't, sorry, didn't know of the darkside of some people, and therefore felt no need to be carefull of choosing his company. He believed everyone to be a friend. He has been surrounded by good and therefore didn't recognise bad until too late. Unfortunately Sam has found peace and harmony in solitude and I fear for him. Hopefully with time I can undo the harm that has been done, by some of the residents of trollsbane and, I admit, myself. I should of prepared him more, but could not bring myself to tarnish a soul that had only ever known the light, by explaining the darkness in some peoples souls. As for acting in an unfitting way I know he didn't, in fact he couldn't.Damien wrote:Choose your company wise, and settle where harmony rules.
I guess, your friend has simply met the wrong people, or acted in an unfitting way.
Mannelig I thank you for your concern but please no blood shed. You know of my opinions of violence for any reason. Sam would be horrified to think that someones blood had been shed because of him.
