I work really hard to get this skill. Everyday i train and train hoping to get it. I know some people that i can beat easily that have dodge and i don't. How do they get it and not me? I mean thats pretty stupid.
okay that previous post about powergaming and ooc issues has sent me into a rampage.
You do not ask someone Ingame, "How cna I learn to dodge?" that is not a logical question. In real life you would learn to dodge as you fight normally. But in this game the mechanics of it make it so you do not learn how to dodge when you fight against swords/axes etc. You must fight against arrows or puncture weapons.
ANd it is not powergaming. Powergaming is learning a skill in a way your character would never logically try to learn it. Think sitting by flies for hours/ hell even going to train at flies your character wouldn't do.
Learning a skill in a logical way like fighting mummies/ other monsters is not powergaming. ANd I swear to god if someone gives another person in this closely knit community more crap about wanting to learn a particular skill and that person calling them a powergamer; I will cuss them out.
That mean that everyone gets dodge one day. Just faster with certain conditions, but you werent in theses certain conditions, you just got dodge that moment, so it was nearly high enought so you learn it just before the fight.
i dunno, in previous fighting system you would dodge more with shields so you would learn dodge faster. new fighting system i dont think it works that way.

Thats not true at all, my char acheived 181(oldclient) dodge skill without ever fighting against either. Dodge is gained through...I don't know, ironically. I never found that I dodged anymore with a shield, and my char still doesn't dodge that much at all.
I still think this has flaws. I always wonder how one duel with me and I cap, Aremeh training for hours in a crypt or dueling and never caps. or how Retlak all of sudden is a master at dodging, or how I dodge better in full armour then in leather...

Yeah, dodge does not matter at all about armor, and it was supposed to, this needs to be fixed or light armors are as useless as in old system.
Unusually Balamos lives much longer against Skeletons and Mummies in light leather armour than he does in his ElvenSilver. And he's inclined towards parry and not dodge. ?

Ditto. I don't know where you get your information saying only puncture damage will increase your skill, but if thats true I've found a bug. I have gotton dodge skill only from monsters using slashing and conc weapons since the update.
