Day and night

Post by Drogla »

I know that a weather system has been proposed, but dont recal day and night. light, twighlight, dark. this would give purpose to oil lamps. use them to see in the dark. i dont know of any other uses for oil lamps, do you?

As an instrument of torture? ;)

A change of day and night has already been discussed in the developer team but was rejected at the moment due to technical problems.

when it is decided when to do the "day and night" method, i hope its not "real time day and night", so you can somtimes play in day, and it be night!....

say like a day real life = 12 hours of day or night.

then the servers dont have to switch these "modes" back and forth so much... and we still get a good effect.
yay, or nay? :?:

You could always turn down the brightness of your screen :D.

LOL@korwin

I really like the idea of having night and day, but i realize that that would mean whole new graphics for everything in night mode, but i think it would add a lot of atmosphere. Would it be possible to just change the gamma on all the graphics and maybe make a few adjustments so it looks realistic? I have no idea how well this would look or how complicated it would actually be to do this, but i do think it would add a lot of atmosphere and i think it should be up there near the top on the to do list...

Turning down the brightness of your monitor is actually a very effective way. I do that all the time when I want it to be night time.

i have done that also, but when there is a fire, i would want it to be bribghter there, more like a day light, or a redish glow. and some monsters only come out at night. or better to plant and harvest crops at night. easier to smith in teh day. things such as this were my fierst thoughts, i was just to lazy to tell them.
jsut my ideas
