If every player was good at rp, and somehow the hardware could handle it, id love it for ilalrion to have lots of people on, maybe make trollsbane no longer ther only place peopel go, since people will always be around every town. id LOVE that
like it was said before, as long as they RP, the game will get better because you wont be walking around alone all the time from lack of people. however, if say, an immature group of people from tibia or worse runescape got together and decided to drop in on us and mess it up, then it would be horrible.
In most cases, consequences of something are both good and bad, and this is one of those many cases. Yes there are more people on, and people can be found easier, and maybe populate towns a little more. On the downside, many of us have seen the absolute chaos that goes on in bigger events, and it often leads to frustration. Also a lot of people tend to get ignored by current RPers, overall IG has become a lot less friendly for new people, long time players kind of close themselves off, and its harder for new characters to jump in. There is also less contact between people, usually a "greetings" and then move on. But, if more people do come, we shall see then.
Yeah, maybe the towns could get more populated, like greenbriar and thoses. But if everyone would stay on Trollsbane, i would hate that. Already when they are lets say 15 peoples in trollsbane, its laggy, we dont see the text cause everyone talks in the same time, and no one fucking go to varshikar or something when it happens (yes, frustration). Usually, when its too crowded, i just log out, and dosent play until it isnt, i dont know for other players though, but thats for me.
immature group: we kill you all!...or try. e-mails, computers, nothing ot do with Illarion!
Alatar(or a gm): sorry, I recieved an !gm, you are now banned for all of eternity.
problem solved. although if it got really crowded, we would need bigger citys, they're kinda small now, but it fits our community.
and yes, noobies are coming, but most never stay on. I sell tons of smithing tools, let them go into debt, and then I never see them online again.
I don't know a thing about how much the server can hold, we are gaing noobs but at a very very slow pace due ot most of them dropping out. we won't have to worry for a long time.
there could be 40 people on my screen and I don't get lagg at all, and instead of expecting others to elave, go yourself with some companions. hipocryte.
Is there seriously a discussion about this? Of COURSE the more players, the better! The more players, the more dynamic the roleplay, and the more chance you'll actually see someone without crossing the map four times.
What it would do is allow for a bigger map. When you increase the map size the number of findable players exponetially decreases. I would go so far as to contend that our current map shold be played with more players.
And the Server is going down because it can't handle the Awe of Turonga, obviously.
no one go anywhere but troll'sbane, it will remain that way until we get more peeps. and if they did go there, we would be more spread out thus less rp!
Yeah i understand that but there is some flaws i everything. In real medievial times there were many differant towns scattered around. But anyways how do you make towns?
more like never, that list has never ever been updated.
everyone gets a house, even noobs who don't play=too many houses/small map= .......too many houses!
you ask him, he gives you the price, then he makes it. but there would probaly have to be tons of owners, there would have to be a need (biggest problem) and it would cost more than you alone could afford

No. Just take an army (7 or so people) and conquer a currently inactive town. Gm's might spawn some angry halfling fighters to defend the town but oh well can't see any reason they would want to waste their hard work to inactivity seeing as how its a pain to update the map currently.

ha that's great. Greenbriar shall be mine.....if any of my characters ever get some fighting skill...
if you want to take the town, do they really spawn fighters there? kinda neat if they do. I thought you just poseted on the rp section saying ti was yours, and killed anyone you saw there.
@Aremeh
that's pretty much what they're saying. they dont want everyone to have a house, it makes sense. the price is right

Well, you usually need gm help, and theyll have a more real resistance, along with an official invasion time, so those who wish to can defend (or attack), and then if you win youll get keys and junk.
Arameh_ wrote:For god damn sake! Its Arameh, not Aremeh ><, oh well. But yeah, if the houses would be cheap the GMs would be making house models everydays.
Hahaha my name is down in the Town Guard list as Deverah Lioness.

If you set up a quest for your guild/tribe I'm sure they would be more than happy to play along so their work isn't all for naught. Greenbriar will be dealt with "another way" if nothing happens.
