Arameh_ wrote:Well, i woulnt say mages have time to #me each timew they send spells. But their spells i must say are overpowered, very. No warriors can possibly have any chance, they kill in 2 blows, and thats for medium mages. And for the perfect stats for a mage, i am certain every mages have max intelligence, willpower, and essence. Why? because magic only takes 3 stats, while fighting takes 5 or so. What about thoses wearing armors? Athian is wearing the best current armor on the game, must better than nightplate, he does so while striking and casting magic same time. So just as example, Salathe fights Athian, athian strikes him with a staff(staves gives defense), his staff hurts him a little bit, and athian in uber armor and staff in nearly invincible, so they both dosent hurt themselves, that mean very long fight. But, in the meantime, Athian would have the time to cast around 8 fireballs, each removing 1/4 of healt of Arameh, who has 8 of essence, most warriors have 3 essence. So Athian win easily. And tell me, who trained the more between Athian and Salathe? Salathe, like 4x more, and who gets pwned like nothing? Magic is overpowered, and soon warriors will all be weaklings if magic resistance isnt implemented. Im saying that and im with the mages in most fights, so im not just crying on my sort.
(Athian and Salathe were examples, im not insulting any of them)

did you not listen to what they said? it takes forever to get just ONE rune, in the way it used to be with an academy it took even longer. There are not that many mages who can teach you magic yet. My char is a mage yet he hasnt a single rune(not that ive worried too much about finding a trainer right now) besides like they said, the intensity of the flame has nothing to do with their magic abilities, I belive (correct me if im wrong) that only affects succes rate of the rune you are using.
For the potions i agree, but at least figthers get stalled 5 secionds after drinking one, the mages have the time to cast a flame and here we go they are stuck in it and die in an instand. (or fireballs, dont talk to me about flames not depending with intelligence!)

i HAVE been hit by magic....yes I died from it too, in fact it was on my first day on Illarion, and like Fooser said warriors are practicably invincible as well.
EDIT: i was typing when you wrote that, no need for you to refer me back to it

And when mages run out of mana?
It's stupid to argue over this.
-A warrior can attack none stop with uber weapons.
-A mage can cast a spell that brings a painful flame.
-A warrior doesn't have a lot of magic defence because of the attributes being spread.
-Most mages have no fighting skills because they have spent two months trying to get three runes to work for them.
Both sides pose a threat to the other. Deal with it. Move on.

Mages can't move for a few secs after every spell they casted, mages have to look at the target they want to cast a spell on, mages are weak and easy to get killed.
Samantha wears NO armor, has NO fighting skills, and just 5 constitution 5 strength and 5 dexterity, together with 10 agility and 6 perception. So don't say we can also raise any other attributes. As a warrior you can forget intelligence and willpower, but we can't forget a single attribute to put points into it. Not if we still want to be able to carry something, or walk like a norman char.

actually Ava, dont they get exhausted as well? then they have to rest and eat, just like mages
EDIT: and Arameh, if you are going to tell us to stop talking flames, maybe you should stop talking flames yourself?

I seriously agree with Arameh.Arameh_ wrote:Read up, warriors aint invincible, they are against warriors if they constantly drinking potions, but mages could kill them easilky while they drink potions.
A warrior with all their skills maxed, versus a person decent in magic.
Decent Magician would probably win.
I ahve lot of magic defense for a fighter and i get pwned by the flames of a warlock that have fighting skills as well. No nothing is completely balanced, but some things are really unbalanced, and thats why there are posts like thoses. Look, 4 fireballs kills me, he shoots 1 each 4 seconds, and hits with his staffs, wearing an uber armros and striking with uber weapons non-stop

It all depends on the situation. This is where strategy comes into play.Urilen Quanasuard wrote:I seriously agree with Arameh.Arameh_ wrote:Read up, warriors aint invincible, they are against warriors if they constantly drinking potions, but mages could kill them easilky while they drink potions.

After a much longer time, they have to rest. Think of how long one can go against mummies, even with mediocre skill.
And Arameh the one example of the warlock who can fight and cast is just that: ONE example. Some characters will be that good. I guess now we know who not to -smile- with, yes? For someone such as Sam, I don't think she's wearing invincible armor and will take half your points with a dagger.
You're exaggerating and it's obvious

And? How many warriors we have? How many mages? How much RP has a warrior to do to get his skills? how fast can he get them?A warrior with all their skills maxed, versus a person decent in magic.

A mage IS something special and strong, but we have few of them. A mage can die easily, if you attack them with two, or by surprise, or anything else. A mage is stronger if he is supported by other warriors and has an open field to the warrior who is his enemy and can cast the magic before he attacks. when i arrived ast the scene today, an orc attacked me without warning or #me, i ran away, because i had as good as no hp left. the orc could have killed me, if he continued to follow me, but he turned and walked back into the fight. that gave me the time to heal, and than stay at the border of the fight and throw magic in while the orcs fight the warriors.
think about that, i would have been easily killed, if you would have did it a bit more smart.

Now you tell me i musnt -smile- with mages cause they are overpowered.
It would seem the reason for this post is: Someone did something that deserved being punished. Shockingly, they were caught!! Now they're boohoo-ing. Samantha was in her rights. If you can attack, so can she. Don't call it unbalanced. Maybe it will be less of a skill-fighting that we see so often and some more good rp.

NO, for the F-ing love of all that is Holy!! I am telling you that there is ONE person. ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who you shouldn't go after because he'll pwn you. How did you miss that? Don't twist my words and think I'll let you.Arameh_ wrote:Avareniah wrote:After a much longer time, they have to rest. Think of how long one can go against mummies, even with mediocre skill.

In illarion, a small fireball hurts more an armored guy than the heavyiest sword by the best fighter on a nude guy, think about it.Azuros wrote:*bangs head on keyboard*
God! you are so impossible, mages do not have more power than they deserve, think about it, if someone in RL were to use magic on you, chances are you're going to loose, same happens when a guy with a sword wants to kill you, no? the exact same is in Illarion

Shall we go test this?

They. Are. Not. Over. Powered.
Go to the store, buy a lollipop. Stick it in your mouth. Suck on it and get over it.
Just because you aren't as awesome and pwning as you thought you were? Just because if you do something wrong there's a chance someone may be able to stop you?
Just because you think EVERYONE is a mage and you'll be "powerless"?
Get over yourself. You all knew magic was coming. Trust in your skills, they mages will trust in theirs.
If mages dont mess with warriors, they won't get hacked.
If warriors don't mess with mages, they won't be charred.
Simple, simple, simple.
As someone else posted: Make a mage friend. When they're on your side, we'll see who complains then.
Can you people never just be thankful for the work and the dedication that goes into these systems? This whole topic is a "boo hoo, I lost unexpectedly today and I'm sad" whine-athon.

Most fights mages are on my side, you tols yourself you made a character strong in one week, and you pwn orcs that trained months and you trained not even a single one. I remember you accusing me of powergaming on fliesSamantha Meryadeles wrote:It is useless to argue with you.
