Election / Wahl

Post by Bailey Thunnigan »

Despite all rumours about myself, I don't mind an election at all.

Quite the converse, an election might even increase the interest of towns people in what actually is going on in the place they live and weld those together who care for Trolls Bane.

Qualified to vote are ONLY those people who's name is written on the citizenlist below.
New people who want to sign up for the cititzenship, may as well do that after the election.

Candidates:

Derek Corydon

Bailey Thunnigan

The endurance of the election is 6 days from now. ((3 rl days)).

* * *

((3 rl Tage)).

What is going on in this town? I am concerned about all this false politics, lies, power struggles and violence. Instead of fighting, you should declare Troll's Bane a free town, as it always was intended by the first settlers recording to the Grey Light Library, until mad people, like you Bailey, came and tried to change everything into dictatorship.

Refrain from all this and start a more peaceful life, leading the town into independence, not rulership. Otherwise, you will die like the rest, as time always showed in the past, and I am very concerned about this.

Yours truly, asking for peace,

Dear Bailey Thunnigan,

your citizenship is an arbitrary act. There exist several citizenship lists of Troll's Bane from the last years. Each new overseer or self proclaimed ruler made his or her own list with the names on it, he or she liked to see.

I may list you the last ones:
Derek's and your list
Pendars list
The triumvirat's list
and so on ...

I once told Pendar, using a new list while removing people from the list without asking them will do no good, but he doesn't heard.
You may read here: Letter to Pendar

And now I have to say the same words to you as I said there to Pendar.
I'm very sceptical the way Troll's Bane is going now and looking from outside, as I was thrown out from citizenship with no reason, I'm glad, that I don't have to live in this town again.

Arugo Klirrblatt, the reason why I arranged it that way, is because I do not want a falsified result – which would be the case otherwise.

Aragon, as Derek Corydon might agree upon, his citizenlist counts. Thank you for your concern.

It's just amusing to see that you never can do everything right in the eyes of people.

You should accept new citicens into your list then before the end, because not every citicen of Troll's Bane wanted to register in your suspicious list before. With just the people, you decide upon, this is criminal.

Please consider this,

Yours truly,

I refuse to acknowledge either of the candidates presented. Perhaps a call to new candidacy is in order? If you don't mind an election so much, then open it up for those who feel they are better suited. I doubt either of you hold much popularity at this point, even when you have those who are loyal to you out of fear or long-term connection.

Aragon,
seeing that the people listed on these old lists have neither applied for citizenship again nor stood up against this change, clearly shows that they do not care for the affairs of Trollsbane anymore.

They would've complained earlier if they realy still bothered, so their claims to be citizens of a town they show no interrest in are void.

Those people still taking part of the official life in Trollsbane shall have a say on the matters of the town and noone else.

And thus, as a citizen of Trollsbane I vote for Bailey Thunnigan

I didn't say that I don't. So when there is anyone of the citizen who wish to sign up, they may tell it.

Shall I write your name on the list of the candidates, Cain?

No, I would rather not be a candidate in this matter. I am not a leader. I am eyes for the blind and ears for the deaf.

Or better said: you are only a man of words. You can talk but not get into action yourself. Well then, Cain, maybe you are still interested in the meeting I offered you and I would gladly listen to what you have to say - that means, if you *really* care for this town and the happenings within.

Otherwise I just take it that you are simply bored.

Cain

They have a dispute within Trollsbane on a daily occurance, the advice best offered is to allow it to run its course, There shall only be more the day after.

I'm not a citizen of this town, but it appears to me to be an unfairly judged election here. I understand the need to have laws and rules, but if the election were an open election you should have stated it. While you aren't opposed to the idea of more than the two of you running you certainly didn't state otherwise leading everyone to believe that only the two of you fight for the survival and just right to rule TrollsBane, as if only the two of you can know what is right for those that live there. I also agree with Aragon, every new leader of TrollsBane shouldn't just make new citizen's lists whenever they want. Its unfair and stupid, not to mention confusing for everyone involved. If the town had fallen into disrepair and was abandoned then I could see the use for a new citizens list after that, but since the town has never decayed because of the absence of citizens then the original citizens list should still stand with the exceptions of those who asked to be removed and those that ask to be added.

As I stated, I am not a citizen but I am often enough within the walls of TrollsBane to care what happens to it. It may be that monsters and hordes have brought untold amounts of pain and suffering unto the town but mark well my forthcoming words: In times of outside forces attacking the town the people will band together to fight it and win back their freedom, in so doing their bonds become stronger. In times of civil unrest and fighting between eachother a town can not fully recover for some time, if at all, because their bonds to eachother are forced to break asunder. When the citizens are pit against eachother, wounds of friends and brothers take longer to heal because often they go deeper than flesh can restrain. An 'election' such as is being proposed will cause civil unrest and its a good possibility that TrollsBane will die. Do either of you want that? There is a better way to go about this, you should restore the town and take more than the time you've given yourselves for others who are interested in the future of TrollsBane to come to grips with what is happening. For as I see it no one can judge fairly what is going on behind closed doors, so to speak.

If there shall only be more the following day, why should this be let to run it's course? That is simply damning the town itself. I appreciate your advice, though I simply cannot follow it, sir Aristeaus. I respect you and your preceeding reputation perhaps more than you might know, however that little piece of advice is beyond me.

Bailey,
Were I at liberty to take action in reforming this city from the miserable squabble-town it has become, I would. I can speak with you, yes. Though I doubt you will like much of what I have to say. Send me a dove when you have thought of a meeting time and I will try to meet with you. Boredom is nothing relevant in this case, however I do feel I should mention that if I begin to feel the meeting is useless, I will end it and be on my way. Call me bored, if you wish, but you are incorrect in doing so.

Sollange dies ausbleibt, gilt meine Stimme auschließlich ihm.

The old citizen list narrow view is being held, because she is quite aware that most of that list is made up of guards, ex-guards, grey rose members, and people who aren't around anymore. Barely any others joined because they know the system is pathetic.

Here is the list after removing the groups mentioned above:
Arameh
Cain Freemont
Garen
Lance Thunnigan
Orren Padick
Salathe Kankas

So, you have fun with your "election"

No. This is the citizens that Derek himself was able to maintain. This is the line at which Derek can be judged. The rest, non-citizens, weren't interested before; of course they are now.

It is exactly because Derek was a tyrant, who never asked the opinion of the people, who never cared to do anything, and who proclaimed himself royalty for no other purpose than socializing, that so few people are on this list.

Let it be those that cared about Trollsbane even when there was nothing to talk about do the voting.

I would also like to ask that you go under the rules I had stated in my proposal, using all of the lists of citizens, and making sure they are present for the vote, before allowing them to. Surely you won't allow a posted vote, will you? As Im sure any would agree, my plan is very-well thought out, and I am sure that it is more fair, as I have the greater mind capacity for this type of thing (not to offend you, I'm not calling you stupid, just not as smart).

Ules writes directions to his postbelow the message

If this is agreed upon, I will remake the letter in a more formal and organized matter, but I cannot say that your system is entirely fair

That is fine, I do not remember calling my system original or creative, perhaps I have forgotten with my old age (that's a joke). I just said that it's good and should work.
