Trouble with carpentry (please help)

(I'm really new to this game)

I'me eager to get started making things, especially from wood. Therefore I just bought a hatchet, a plane, a saw and carving tools.

Here's my problem:

I ve chopped off apple-trees and chopped it into wood. Then I've made planks, but when I try to make things out of the planks it goes like this...

1, I shift-click the plane and then the planks and some options appears

2, I shift-click the bow I want to make and then the places with the options clears out and nothing happends, (no planks used and no bow made)

What to do?

Would be really grateful for any tip or help.

I'm still a novice as a carpenter myself but the reason that happens is that you are not skilled enough to make a bow. Try making staff handles from cherry braches first, it should work.

You dont have the skill to make anything in the bow sub-menu yet. Make other things and gain skill. More items will becone available as you get more practice.

The first menu is simple a large menu...

When you choose, it opens up the relative submenu; in which the items are sorted. WIth them, for example; the bow section will fill with different kinds of bows, instruments with different kinds et cetera.

And 2) You need threads to make bows as well. You should be told you don't have all the resources to make it if you do try.
