Bailey was kinda late with reading the message pinned at the town board but as she heard of the matter she immediately decided to go down the crypts.
Without hesitating she strapped on her armour, took some weapons with her and stuffed some food and healing potions and even bandages, needle and thread into her bag, for the case that Balamos might be injured.
"I fear we won't have a romantical evening tonight", she said to Stephen with a boyish smile, though her usual stern eyes showed a hint of concern. "I will go down to the crypt and see if I can find Balamos."
Willing to keep her company, Stephen grabbed his things as well and the freshly married couple made their way towards the cemetery.
Balamos *was* a recruit of the town guard. The last time Bailey met him, the man didn't seem either well, nor fond of the idea to stay as a part of the guard. A pity, Bailey thought. After all she liked the man a lot, but she would not pester him to tell her what was wrong.
Anyhow, she had to find the man and make sure he was safe...
The cemetery was only a few steps away now...

Balamos groaned and turned on his harsh bed of pebbles and pillow of rock. His dreams fleeted beneath his eyes, never constant, and frequently unpleasant. The darkness was taking its toll on his mind, only the flicker of his amulet and the deathly green glow on the water gave him light to see by, the store of torches and firewood had long ago turned into sodden ashes and smoke.
A scream sounded in the distance, followed by a few whimpered howls of dispair, Balamos juddered awake and instinctively snatched for his mace. Coming to his senses and realising that the screams, though painfully common were no closer he cursed his actions as the wound up his side began once again to bleed.
"By the Gods, have they all forsaken me? Am I to die crippled in this hole of darkness and hunger?"
He pawed the gash tenderly, flinching as his fingers became too inquisitive. He ripped more of his tattered cloak and tightened the crude dressing. He slept most the time now, with no sun to guide his actions he was in a constant dream state in this perpetual night.
He let a moan pass his lips as he fumbled for the remains of his last ham. Nothing more than a gnawed bone remained now. His hand searched further and came to rest on the slimy corpse of a cave fish. Large and bulbous with unnatural eyes that buldged from its head. They tasted foul, and the worse of them brought delirium, but they sustained his battered body, and could continue to do for atleast a week or so, he was becoming weaker everyday, and would soon not be able to hunt them in the dark.
Bringing the slippery flesh to his lips his mused his fate, and wondered, as he tore the putrid skin, if this was to be his final chapter. His eyes lost focus on the shadows beyond his hollow, and he drifted back into dream.
