The New Magic Academy - Is anyone planning to keep it runnin

I look at the Boards and see that Dyluck has asked Bror to remove the Magic Academy from the links page. Is anyone planning on keeping the Academy running? If so, please say here, I would like to be part of it. I would like to continue the Academy until the day when Dyluck returns to reclaim it. If nobody is planning it, I will group with a few people to run it until the true headmaster returns.

I will have the bloodskulls protect whomever decides to step foward until they are fit to do themselves, out of respect for the departed Dyluck. I know he will return one day and does not tuely wish for his lifes work to be forgotten.

hmmmm, my opinion is:
Astral may act for the "one and only!" headmaster Dyluck until his return, whenever this will be, but only if i get a vote for decision making... i don't know if this is in Dyluck's sense, but i don't like to see the academy running on and blow it...
So please think it over and ask whoever you want to help you if you think you can handle it.

I know that you, Shi, have been a part of the Magic Academy longer than I. You also have attained a far higher rank than I have. So I would be honored if you take the place of Dyluck until he returns. I would be happy to be a teacher to lend a hand. We can try to make a new test system where it is still fair to those mages who cant cast EVERY spell anymore. I dont think this would take much work. If you still think that I should lead it, you may have the position of vice-headmaster (if that is even a word :biggrin: ). Let's face it...you can try to make it so that you can get a decent rank even if you can't cast all the spells, but your progress will still be limited and you can't really be fit for the higher ranks. Thanks for all your support everyone, but it's really enough if you keep the Magic Academy in your hearts and memories and bring up your former titiles proudly once in a while.

I think it would help my cause better if you'd not keep the Academy running, but if you really want to continue it, then I guess I'll leave Shi Long as the headmaster and Astral can help him out too.

I said it, you can lead the magic academy, but not without my vote for decision making...
I can't lead the academy, because i have to much work with my monastery (which is in some ways nearly the same like the academy).

So try to balance your reasons for leading the academy and if you are equal to lead the academy, do it. But please try to arrange with me, if you make decisions.

If it is required that a single person will "lead" it, then you can put my name down. But really, I cannot not run it alone, so I must make a council of "advisors". The advisors will be the teachers and students (of fairly high) rank who wish to take part. Shi Long, you will of course be one of the advisors. These advisors will be the "teachers" who will give exams, since I will not be on all the time. I will make a website and some new tests (which I will post here or send to the advisors for consent). In respect of Dyluck's wish, i think "The Magic Academy" is closed until Dyluck himself open it again...

But Astral you can found the "New Magic Academy", i don't think Dyluck will mind this, and in that case you don't need my vote for decisions and you don't need me in your council. So you can completely change everything you think it's necessary.

I would help you, if you need help, so far as i am able to do.

I dont think that we are going to accomplish anything by closing it. If you are trying to better the cause, we are best to continue it. If we just drop everything and quit, then that does not give the righ message. They are not going to change the magic system back unless they have a good reason, and guilting them isn't going to do any good. My whole idea here was to continue the existing academy, but that is sort of ruined. It is not in good faith to create a completely new one now. That's not the kind of thing I am trying to do. I was not trying to do this so I could lead a Magic Guild, I wanted to keep the Magic Academy existent so it is not forgotten. I guess this sort of halts the "New Magic Academy" for now.

Now it just sounds to me like Dyluck is crying. I hate to say this but look Dyluck we have all lost a great many powers recently, well at least those of us that are talking about it now, there is nothing we can do about it except live on. You still have the knowledge of the magical arts, you can still be the greatest teacher in all the land if you want to. Nobody else is as knowledgalbe as you in what it takes to be a superb magician. But to me it seems like you are forsaking all of your friends to prove a mute point to the gods. I say come back, prove that you can still be the greatest mage without being able to cast a single spell, then you shall truely be the greatest magician in Illarion. The gods must then grant you what you desire, if not......they will no longer have a flock wich they can oversee, many more will leave with you on your second departure. What good is a god with nothing to rule???

Trying to prove that I can been the greatest magician without having any spells won't show the gods that I need my spells back. If you think they would 'grant' me what I deserved, then I think they would have given me it already.

Do you think the god will believe he made a mistake if you continue to follow him anyways?

If you can't understand why I leave, then ask why the gods have not undone this change even though it is painstakingly obvious that it has made Illarion worse.

It seems they won't realize until they lose their flock, and I'll sacrafice myself as the first step towards that.

I need some sort of answer as to we should continue the academy. You said before a very contridictory answer, which has sort of halted my progress. If you say yes, then we will keep it alive, if you say no, then it will cease to exist. I prefer the first one, but I suppose it is up to you. I am not planning to start a new school like Shi Long said.

I don't know what to say about the Magic Academy or Dyluck since their disappearance has no roleplay explanation to it.
Like I said before, it would help my cause more if you didn't continue the Academy for now.
In fact it helps my cause if you didn't continue with your lives as if nothing had happened or stop playing for now too.
But I understand if you don't share that same view, so do whatever you want Astral.

Oh and just ignore Lloyd everyone, he's not worth the time.
