~ Keh diya * Keh diya ~

Post by Najla eb Yamha »

" ~ Keh diya, Keh diya, you are my soniya ~ "

She still heard the line that Faladron sung yesterday. The line of her favourite song.
~ You are mine, You are mine. You are my sun. ~
At least that was it how Najla could translate it. She was surely proud of herself, how fast she was learning the common language. Meanwhile she was able now to do proper conversations and those words she didn't knew, she simply tried to gesture.

Now to translate a complete song was a rather difficult mission ... and if she would have the right words she could have told Faladron the whole meaning of these lines.

~ When I saw you the first time...~
~ when I saw you the first time...~
~ I suddenly realized...~
~ ... that you will be mine.~
~ Don't turn away from me.~
~ You belong to me, you belong to me, you are my sun.~

Najla has reached Varshikar again and she was utterly confused and in her eyes shimmered silver tears. Deep in her heart she knew that she hurted someone. Mayber deeper than she had been hurt in her time as a slave – and she felt terrible sorry for it.

Did Faladron really fell... in love... with her? But what was love?

In the life she lived in Albar, she was not even allowed to look anyone in the eyes. She was not allowed to stand in their presence or be taller than them and even though she didn't understand their language properly, she learned quickly to interpret their gestures.
She had to.

Her life was affected by three simple, but essential cognitions:

* Disobedience causes pain.
* Being touched causes pain.
* When you don't work fast enough, you will have to spend the evening without food.

'Love' she only knew from the songs she has learned from another slave, which they sang quietly every evening after the work was done. Songs that told about beautiful women, about sharing affection and that even told about the strange concept of being free.

Being free...
now that was something that Najla got aware of with every day she spent on Gobaith. The beginning was hard, but meanwhile she could look into other peoples eyes without immediately lowering her gaze or even kneeling down, because she was afraid of beatings when standing in their presence. Meanwhile she was even able to walk up to strangers and say 'hello', she was able to laugh loudly if she felt like it.

Najla quickly recognized that she now owns something so precious, that she would give her life for it. An own will. An own opinion.
To know that she could do what she wanted, say what she wanted and work what she wanted broke the last chains that were holding onto her heart.

Just one of the three cognitions was still deeply embed in her.
Being touched causes pain.
