How do I get on Illarion from a direct file, not a shortcut?

Post by Alendria »

Hmm.. I know this is kind of a weird question, and its probably been in my face the whole time. But no matter which way I try to get on, the document or whatever says its a shortcut. I know this is most likely the reason why I get a black screen :P Help very much apreciated.

I heard you were supposed to create another file and put Illarion in it, but that ends up as a shortcut as well. Would somebody help me? please? I really want to play Illarion... to think I got worked up for nothing

i would help you but i dont know what your problem is.

but you can't put the datas around. illarion has to be start from the folder in which you installed the client.

download the client, install the client into a folder of your chose, and start the game from THAT folder.

Shortcuts also work, such as in the start menu and desktop. It really shouldn't matter whether using a shortcut or the original .exe file.

Right click the shortcut, click properties. Click the shortcut tab, then click the button that says find target. It will open the illarion folder (probobly located in program files) automatically. Double click the exe to start Illarion.

You can run it from a shortcut, just do not move the original .exe file around.

If needs be re-install it, then find the only .exe file, right click (assuming you are using windows), send to > DEsktop (create shortcut)

It should work.

..it already makes one when you install. Least it did to me everytime I installed it.
