Faeries and Goblins

Post by Deinarious »

I was wondering...will faeries and goblins ever be implemented as playable races? If so, will they be for everyone or just GMs?

I don't know about fairies being playable, at the moment they seem like the closest things to gods on Gobiath, (solving problems, seeing the future, having magic), so I don't think we will be able to play them. However Goblins I think are possible, there is even an ingame avatar for goblins, and they seem like orcs only with magic, maybe consider them elves if orcs were human, only lower all the intelligence by several points.

There was a fairy grafic. But it somehow wasn't usable ingame. It was a true fairy. A little, cute thing with wings and glitter and all ;)

Currently, this is not planned. However, goblins exist and they appeared in some quests recently. Their grafics will change with the upcoming client, though.

Yes, because the current ones look like a swamp monster from a low budget B movie, as I recall.

You made the new goblins? I *adore* them. They're as cute as cute can be. =)

I started a large army of them on the test server to attack Martin, but he got off the server too quick. Instead I used them to take over Varshikar.

The test server has always served as a bit of a playground. When the first spells came in, I attacked Martin with a horde of bandits which he repelled instantly with magic.

And when the first testers came in, it was a PK heaven. =D Ask Misjbar.

I remember for a day when lag tests were being carried out, the server allowed everyone to join the test for one day. It was funny as hell.

Faries, goblins?! Sounds a bit gay doesnt it?

... I'm in.

I still loathe Donal for that. Also common poop-jokes made by sir Donal, by turning clipping off, standing inside me, and making it seem that I say the most peculiar things. >_>

And ofcourse endless arrows coming from afore-mentioned fiend.

It was fun when they were still trying to figure out the GM commands. They'd try to autokill rune me and I'd go invisible and just when they weren't expecting it I'd !summon them and autokill them =) Ah... thems were the days.

Soo...does that mean that until they become playable, if they ever get playable, I could just use the elves as a fairy or the orcs as goblins?
I really want to play a fairy for some strange reason...

no, It means that goblins are stinky green guys that like to fight-just like orcs

and elves are perfect people who are wise and stuff-just like elves

so take the character you wanted to be a goblin, and instead just make him an orc.

and stop trying to push the limits on everything, you've asked questions like these alot and every time you get the same answer-no, they gave a list of races, stop trying to add to them or change them

why not try being a boy for once, it may be funner than you think!

No. It's unlikely that either goblins or faeries will be playable races (for players) until the very distant future.

And in Illarion terms the very distant future is 2018.
