Goodbye all.
*looks around sheepishly* "Is this still the place for goodbye posts?" *whimpers slightly as he catches someones pitying gaze*
*cough*
Right...errr. Well..
After months of telling myself I had quit illarion, going through both the withdrawal and denial processes that are frequently associated with such a notion and finally coming out the other side (I think) I have made my way back to say goodbye (It seems I have got things the wrong way round again!)
Now...I'm not really sure how these posts are supposed to go or if there is a strict protocol one should follow (probably because I don't make a habit of creating goodbye posts or studying those of others in detail) so please don't throw things at me if it is not up to standard.
---
I had so many great times playing illarion and I can safely say that I made friends who are as dear to me as any made in the real world. People have always been so friendly and welcoming, and it has been interesting to see them both come and go.
I personally feel very lucky to have experienced this little roleplaying gem tucked away in a cosy little corner of the world wide web. Many a night has been spent at this here computer (well actually at my old computer...but thats just being pedatic) roleplaying away and interacting with the various characters and players that grace the illarion world.
Unfortunately time is limited and I no longer feel that I can justify the large amounts of time I would previously spend on illarion I also feel that I am no longer able to provide the energy that is required to roleplay a charcter well.
So, thank you all for the great time, everbody that I have ever interacted with and those working behind the scenes have all contributed to the wonderful experience that I have had, I would write a list of all those who I hold in the highest esteem (which I believe is common practice in goodbye posts), unfortunately not only would it be bloody long but I would end up insulting someone..or something!
Goodbye!
Ezo
(I believe it is at this point that you all don pitchforks and run me out of town)

Rob! I knew this day was coming eventually, but it's hard to believe that you've finally made the actual goodbye post. You and I have had some good times roleplaying as the inseperable duo of Ezo and Brendan with their mystical buckets and I'll genuinely miss the roleplay you bring to the game. Ezo is a person who knows how to roleplay any race flawlessly, while bringing his own unique perspective to the mix.
In other words:
He pwns.
Goodbye, Sir Ezo of the Rock!

Gah..Your all making it so hard! Trust me to come back and say goodbye
.
After technically leaving illarion and then returning to say goodbye I would never have thought doing so would be such an emotional experience. I feel that I am losing such valuable friends that I have spent years of my life interacting with and having such great times.
Half of me...The part that really values these friends and this game for what it is, can't help but resist with all it's strength as common sense and current circumstances are tearing it away from where it keeps it's roots.
Those who I hold most dearly know who they are, and I don't feel the need to list them.
I can't say this enough times. Thank you all so much!
P.s (I never even got to 500 posts..hrmpf, serves me right for not posting on the goodbye posts of people I don't know!)
I better go now, thats the main problem with goodbye posts..they make denial impossible, unless! "I'm not going anywhere...Yes thats right..nowhere at all"

Although I never really did meet your character in the game world, I can recall a number of different situations that managed to spark some interest into the game throughout the years, and it was all made possible because of you: the player -- and like many other players that have come and left, I thank you for that. Another player leaves and another character will be missed.
It seems it is these sort of posts that somehow encourage me to return to this game.
Thank you and Goodbye!
