The Many

Post by Fooser »

They..
They will burn your earth
And boil your seas.

His sharp point feet slammed against the cold hard dirt of the forest ground, leaves spread lightly in certain areas. The forest was so quiet at night.

The White Hot Many are truly a group of old elves, trapped in a prison beneath the ground.
We were bound by blood magic and can only be released by such.

Truth, such a strange concept. In this case, the truth would either be good, or catastrophic.

The fairy queen and the townspeople. Were they right? Their story seemed accurate...alluding to the Pirate Gerard, and the evils of another plane. But who was to say? Why do the fairies know so much? They aren't perfect.

And all will live together, happily.

His cape flapped behind him as he moved from one tree to the next quietly. The silence still being kept.

Happiness. People on this island have not seen such a thing in quite a while. But was the Many's elven messenger telling the truth? Would happiness come, or will even more legions of evil march on this land? Was the first option worth the risk?

He was shown the spot a few times before. He faked ignorance on the subject to Pendar, to see what he knew about this situation, and his plan for defense. It wasn't far now..

They wanted me to, go there....shed blood...called me the traitor.

Funny how things work out. Anyone could be here instead of me. Why did these voices search out others for this task?

The Faeries were jealous of our power.
And sought to control all of this land.

Was the fairy queen bias and evil like he said? How did he get into this mess.

Fooser.
We have a confession to make.
Yes...?
We're not your chancellor.

They lied once. They're lying to me again. This is madness.

The red dagger fell from his hand onto the forest floor. Making a slight glare at it, he turns around a few steps, stops, and jogs back to pick it up.

When we are freed, all will be well.
We will set about changing this island into a glorious paradise.

I have good intent. I do the best with the knowledge I have. There's nothing wrong with that, right? Who is to say that this isn't all nonsense? I wonder if they have any defense of the portal up yet. It doesn't really matter. They do not understand.

They wont see you.
You will be protected by our magic.

As he entered the area of the portal, amidst the trees, his body began to fade in and out, the birds ignoring his presence. The magic must have worked.

That lizard is the traitor.

Indeed comical how the fairy pointed me out while making her point, for she was right. But unfortunately, if the elves speak truth, she is also evil, and a liar. This is the spot, here.

Traitor.

He begins to speak lightly out loud now, the dagger in his hand.

"I have done many questionable things, with good intent."

The dagger starts to his against the scale on his arm as he presses down harder and harder.

"But at the end of the day..."

The dagger now is underneath, and a wound opens.

"My conscience is clear."

The first drop of blood hits the dirt, then another, then a small stream. Then it stops.

Your wound will heal instantly if you use that blade
That way, none will be able to tell you opened the portal.

The blade was now out, he looks down at his arm, and it looks normal. He wipes the small amount of blood off on a red shirt he brought along and pockets the knife again. The branches of the trees around him begin to move with more speed than before, but nothing else happens.

"Thank You."

The elven voice echoes from somewhere in the trees. Fooser merely nods and makes a comment.

"Now I hope you keep your end."

He walks back to town the way he came, moving quietly as the magic to mask his appearance wears off, and he leaves the forest.
