An excuse.

Have any of you noticed the massive, and i emphasize the word MASSIVE training going on right now? The town was taken over, aye that is true, the people are preparing to take it back, also true. BUt there is a line between preparing and powergamming. I was on as one of my newer chars, walking around the grey rose castle and this is all i heard "Are you ready to fight yet." "I need to prepare for the next attack". And the thing that pissed me off royally was the fact when some people were training they were having a ooc conversation about it, "((how much did i do?))" "(uhh about 7 health))" or something along those lines. Bloody hell what ever happened to OOC being used SPARRINLY? Granted durring this time i dont think people should not train, but what i am seeing here is excessive. Yes i realize that there are countermeasures against powergaming such as the "Unable to concentrate." and "you urgently need rest" but the lads just wait for a small bit, then train again, untill they get the "Unable to concentrate" then they rest and repeat. My concern is people are using the loosing of trollsbane just to get thier parry higher, or their slashing wepons, ect. Im not saying every one is doing this, but by what i saw, a good majority.

The exessive ooc talks are one thing. I believe, the most of them could be of ingame matter, so that the ooc is not seccessary.

The thing with "you are unable to concentrate and can not learn" (or something like that) is an other topic. When this message is send by the system, the players can not train the skills of their chars for hours. So their overacting is useless. They only lose their food storage, health and destroy their weapons and armors. Therefore there can not be a "real" powergaming, because it makes no sense.

The only "powergaming" you still can find is to gain coins and money by working for hours without an end. But it is also limited by the food storage and other things (The break of tools should be higher in my view. My chars never lose tools like saws, axes, spoons or something like that).

I agree,my char is unable to concentrate after 15 minutes of killing beasts and it take hours before i can fight well again,so power gaming is not relly possible for fighters in this game.

I thank you for your enlightenment Lennier. For hours after the message appears? If that is so then i have no problem with that. But the speaking in ooc, it seems everyone does it more and more often, with the exception of those of us who have been on the game a long while, and even then a few speak way to much ooc, and not even in a whisper.

That happened maybe for about 3 minutes and only from a few people, I was there the whole day.

And yes, many chars trained, but in a good value I believe, I for example got none of those skill-messages the whole day, though it comes quite quickly usually.
The fighting was filled with good rp also I believe, they had long brakes, in between other people got wood and food for preparing, and, next to the ooc messages, some good fights with #me's could be seen.
No worry.

The rp was debatable, the rp fights were well rped, a few at least, but the rp in general, between the players as they were not fighting, i saw very little rp outside the castle, inside however i did see some rp.

Don't you realise that there is a system that stops skill gain after a time? If the GMs think people are gaining to much skill, they can change the system. Simple.
