Mining?

Post by Gishmel »

Minor updateThe mining of ore, coal and gems was reworked and improved. Now there are well defined mines where you can fetch these resources. Therefore you should not wonder that you can't mine in the middle of Troll's Bane any longer.
Is this why when I mine in the rocks outside of Silverbrand I only find piles of 1 if I find anything? I know my skill is much higher.

Yes!

please, read this:

The mining system is changed completly. Raw matrials and the success rate to find them also depends on the areas. There are areas which are empty and some which are filled with different ores, gems etc.

Go around and search for them. In general mines should be better places to find ores than the overground (maybe some very little map-changes are needed).

With the new changes mining becomes harder. But you can collect lots of knowledge about the art of mining (about the different locations and success rates). So miners should be more important now (prices should grow up) and i hope we get some full-time mines now.

I belive prices will go up on wares such as armor and weapons now as well. Since ingots are used from raw materials then smelted into ingots then made into such wares.

Erm...If you are a smith it means that ingots will be harder to make and more expensive.

cmon, it's not that bad, I mean sure, ore will be rare, but still, if I can rase prices, than it pays off! and I thiink it would be cool going around, looking for a *hot* spot. And if you find one, its your secret, and your rich!

I got 6 on 25 copper. Nice huh? Anyhow, to the programmers out there, and whomever's idea this was, this was the best thing that happened to mining ever. I wish to apologise for being so skeptical about it all. See general board.

I think this thread may be dead but...

Insted of findidng more with a higher mining skill do you jus mine faster now? It seems so.

Yes and no.
The higher the skill, the faster you mine AND the more you find.

This is the sort of question you ask around in game. It is something for your character to learn, not something for you to learn and your character to just suddenly know. If I met you in game I would tell you where they are.
