2 Questions

I would be thankful if anyone could help me.

1. I can't understand Books. Why?
2. If It's something to do with language, Does anyone know where the Elven City is? I started in a place in the middle of a forest that from above as square with a hole in the centre. Where is this? Is it my hometown? Please Help me!!

Books realy dont do anything yet thought when reading them alot you get libraby skills witch may be of use later
in books you can however read how to do something or where to find what
some books you cant understand yet but later in the game when language skills become possible you may be able to learn that language and find great treasure or ruin or stuff like that

And your in Vanima its the elf city
im not sure what you can exactly do there i've only been there once

Do you see that little box at the bottom center of your screen? That's a counter. Try raising the number using the arrow buttons and then reading the books that you take off of the shelf. In addition to being a counter for telling the game how many of something you want to pick up, this counter also dictates which page of a book you're reading. Give that a try.
