I have seen more than one emoticon, and help asked... please REMOVE THEM...

Your character is supposed to write there, or act there pretending on the case...

Only for explaining:

I've played many an RPG where you were allowed to use emoticons in and out of dialogue to increase speed of such; however, I've also seen RPGs where things like a smiley is automatically translated into *smiles*.

Also keep in mind, those of you who are newer to Illarion, that there used to be a time when emoticons were allowed here; and some very old players might still be in the habit, as well as some newer players might not know of the unwritten code of conduct here. Please be considerate when you inform whoever, it's not like we're stupid if we didn't follow imaginary rules.

actually black is readable, and if there actually was a post like that i'm sure they were informed by someone not to do that

relax and let the newer players make mistakes

I don't think we need to assasinate everyone who posts a smiley in the rpg forum

That makes perfectly sense what you say, but please keep in mind that Illarion is still a unique among its genre.

Spam is subjective term and if one wants to be picky about it then half the posts in this thread are spam. Now i appreciate that Kevin is erm prone to spamming how ever boards are moderated for a reason. I am sure the mods of the respective boards told the posters that we dont do that here.
I dont really think two instances of players who may or may not even have characters yets warrents worrying over. I think my point is any one can mouth off on the forums and humbly make a request how ever actual concern for the game or new player would be better served by pming.

I can see your new to illa as you posted an emote in the rpg forum we generally dont do that here and the mods frown on it. So whats your character name we should rp sometime or my msn is, this game is tough to get into but very worth it hit me up.

you see its really easy for us older players to point things out on forums or politely request mistakes are set right. How ever if we spent as much time extending a hand to new comers. We would i am sure have less need to make posts complaining about minor errors.
