A scroll was hung above the pile, where it dangles and dances to gusts of the wind. Written in a swift, slightly sloppy handwriting, and muddled with occasional stains of blood and other malodorous fluids, it reads:
- Dear people of the glorious town Troll's Bane,
I am partially amused to behold two Beholders to greet me with fang and tentacle upon my travel and return from Greenbriar. As Conner, incidentally arriving at the scene of dispute, and I together slew these two beasts, I felt afterwards a desire of paying back the gesture of such a lovely welcoming gift.
If the people of Troll's Bane face challenge of vermin and exterminating the latter, hesitate not to ask us Varshikari for assistance. Our hearts are not made of ice, ye know.
May you go with blessings of the Five,
Sian of Varshikar,
Novice of Tanora.
