An Announcement!

Post by Gray »

I, Elliot Stewborne, as a loyal page to the Duke of Machyllyneth, a land of far away, hereby announce a contest open to the citizens of Gobaith, Vanima, and Briar!

My Lord the Duke is searching for skilled people in all trades to teach the peoples of our land your trades. Rewards are promised to those who win in each category, provided the winner in each of the following categories will agree to teach his trade to our people.

The categories are:
Carpentry
Blacksmithing
Goldsmithing
Tailoring
Archery
Melee Fighting
Cooking
Brewing

Please sign your name and intended category below if you wish to enter. The contest will be ((next wednesday, 7:30 pm EST))

If this contest is successful we will hold another for other crafts in the future!

Signed,
Page to the Duke of Machyllyneth,
Elliot Stewborne

The Duke reflects his disappointment that no one has signed up yet, The contest is postponed to ((one week from the original date))

Perhaps I should reinforce that there is a substantial reward to be had for winning each division.

May I remind you that announcement is not spelled announement? Some people on this island do watch intelligence, or non-intelligence in this case, and hold it in high respect. Such foolish mistakes do not make your contest more wanted.

Dear Peoples of Gobaith, Vanima, and Briar,

I am saddened the lack of interest in my competition. My people truly need the help that the winners would give in teaching their crafts to them. We need to know how to hunt, craft, and defend ourselves. I am afraid that many of my people will perish without this help.

I will give you all one more week to sign up. The new date will be another week from the last date given. ((October 5, 2005, 7:30 EST, 11:30 GMT))

I hope you will be considerate of the people of Machyllyneth.

Signed,

Athelstan Grudduff

It is with a cheerful heart I bring you news, people of Gobaith! My lord the duke has just increased the rewards to be given to the winners of the competitions in their categories! Oh, please do sign up, this shall be simply marvelous!

If the timeing of the event is the reason we've so few applicants, please speak up and name a better time and perhaps we can reschedule for you.

Excitedly and Sincerely Yours,

Elliot Stewborne,

As long as the time is not too late, or too early I should be able to make it.. ((Between 6 and 9 CET))

Also i wish also to apply for carpentry, maybe i'll at least have a small effect on Fal's outcome..

I am terribly sorry to bring this news to those who have signed up already, but we are still far too short of people to hold our event. We must have at least two signed up in each category, or how will we judge that you truly are the best?

The Duke will continue to leave this parchment upon your walls, and I personally will scout the town in the coming days for prospective participants, so that hopefully we can arrange this competition; the people of Machyllyneth are growing old whilst waiting.
