Quest Feedback

I would just like to mention, that as much as people seem to have disliked it because the repercussions were actually *felt*, that the Elder Tree quest involved no fighting *what*soever, and in fact for those who were involved there was quite a bit of wonderful roleplay.
And now I will shut up, because I think I may have been the only one to actually *like* that quest, despite the inconvenience of the plants.

Yes I have pging tendancy's I think i know pretty well how the skill cap works. I also have a pretty good idea what armor is good and I like to experiment with variouse weapons.
If that makes me a poor player in peoples eyes so be it
.
As per Rl Pendar has found the most affective way to train, He knows how long to train for and how to do it to achieve maximum affect. I cap my skills once a day if on any given day I play Illarion for more than a few hours. I like to know how things work in a game I am playing to me the technicalitys of the program are like the rules to pen and paper game. I like to know the rules....
At the same time I play purely rp characters I play characters with poor skills and honestly Pendar is moderately skilled at best.
This game is meant to be fun if peoples fun is skills so be it. Power gameing has never been the issue, people who abuse skills to ruin other peoples fun are the issue.
Always has been to me,
Brian

A piece of feedback to the players (all meant in good humour):
1. Never trust an elf you have never met before.
2. Never believe that a ritual taking place directly above Darlok's resting place is for the good of mankind and kittens.
3. Never trust an elf who wants you to do a blood sacrifice. Remember the last time a blood sacrifice took place? Arynne hasn't been the same since..
That's all for now.
Edit: Drakhen has tricked you twice now!

4. Never try to stop GM controlled skeletons weilding war axes...
Added as an after thought > Especially if you are using a wooden shield and no armor...

I would like to say thank you for this quest, it let me put a nice big trecharous twist in Mephistus's storyline and gives me the chance for some more clever scheming plotting and roleplaying.
All in all, I think this entire quest has brought out some of my best roleplay for Mephistus, and I'd just like to thank you for giving me the chance, and helping me get there.

Quest has been awesome, actually it has really twisted and turned on me.
As to the ritual above the castle, I saw that coming a mile off sadly pendar is a trusting sort and not always that quick on the uptake.
Been a really good quest Japheth, I have had a lot of fun indeed. How ever what has made this quest so memorable is the players willing to dive in and get involved.
Those who helped me build the ladder,
Po arynne for parting with a loved character to add weight to quest.
Po Dravish
for sacrificeing a skilled character so we would have a villan and takeing numerouse trips cross side in his stride. Not easy to part with a skilled one to put up with all us heros is something else.
Po Stephen Rothman
For killing off a sucessful character which i know he spent weeks on in total.
All of this plus an awesome script have really added weight to this quest and made it one of my favorites ever. But as stated above what has made it awesome is player interaction this quest has not just lived and died when a GM loggs on and off. We the players have taken this quest and run with it, a trait we would be well adviced to continue.
Thanks again jappy, above mentioned and everyone who has rped this one with me.
One point item grabbers, people when a Gm monster drops loot. Please show some rp ability and actually #me what you are taking or grabbing. I mean today we were all standing around Dravish's items, I was saying burn it all and poof its gone.
Big pat on the back to the player who #me slips away with some items and some one else who made us aware they had grabbed the bow. As well as those who at least said what they had afterwards.
How ever to others who are more concerned about grabbing items than showing any RP integrity, gah go play runescape. We are all standing around eyeing the loot how any one could concievabely get it with out us all seeing is beyond me.
Also just as a side note OOC is to be whispered and kept minimal at all times. ((who has the fire broad sword)) is just disturbing the rp. Rather let your character mention such an item was present, that way we could act on your input.
Small whine there, but thank you all it has been great fun

That was me who grabbed some stuff then i #me slips away with some items *shrugs* all i wanted was the skull, rebecca was willing to part with the armour and i accidently picked up while trying to get the moving list of items ><
mybee my view on this is incorrect, but to me its seems that people go to quests just to go to quests. some people go to quests that thier character probably wouldnt even attend. I figure that part of the reason is becouse of the idea of their bieng items there. The only reason rebecca was there was to watch a certain half elf that she was following. But thats another story ^_^. when she saw all those the skeleton drop she went over and looked through it. like i said , i wasnt tyring to get that bulky ass plate armour.. she just wanted the skulls, and she got it. but eh.just my thought at the moment.

Yes thank you both
Really the issue of item grabbing goes beyond just this quest.
People are always going to want to be at quests as simply put thats where the "action" is. Today i admitt to slight OOC abuse as i knew it was jappy and as such drahken related.
Still with a lich on the isle i suppose investigateing strange lights if you have a grudge is not to bad. As it turned out i had business there.
How ever that aside I think people will always change there rp and simply attend quests or events for the sake of doing so. They after all run for players ammusement, would be great to see more rp "respect" how ever i dont forsee it.
Simply what people need to realise is that item grabbing with out #me is just as bad as attacking with out action. It makes something noticeable untraceable. It is as bad as useing a bow in a crowd and not admitting it was you.
I dont suppose its going to change yet that was my gripe, you two who have now come forward may now get your pat on the back personally. As to just wanting skulls, I really dont/wouldnt mind if you grabbed it all you made me aware of who you were. So we could rp from there alas i lagged out horribly, How ever point is your consideration made further rp possible.
Its only items i would trade a pixel for some good rp any day

Some of us work
Now i know for my part i use the quests as well as player interactions to affect and influence pendar. Being involved in two quests in particular have changed him for ever.
I know some GMS just do them and i think thats great, how ever announcement serves a purpose. Those of us with jobs and tight time deserve to play quests too

I was in town burying a dead man when the light eminated from varshikar today. Some people went to investigate, i waited a while they did not return. I waited a bit longer and eventually i saw an open portal. Haveing my teleport to TB on me.
I boldly stated if this wasnt to do with Drahken it was Arists problem and left for the north.
All about how you rp it, i suppose...
You either use common sense or you dont. Believe me secret quests would only cause some players to follow around a player they thought to be involved.
We need not try and compensate for people who act on OOC knowledge or behave in strange ways for quests.
They will mature as players or not, but always that sort of action will be with us.
Also quests are run for the community if a GM likes an idea it he/she might facilitate a quest for a smaller group. How ever let us never forget the large quests are meant for the whole comm to enjoy

I was trying to strike a deal for arrows when there was a commotion and some people somehow saw a light from inside the shop. The character I was dealing with suddenly ran outside and dissapeared, I saw a portal someone mentioning it went to Varshikar. My char needed arrows so I figured I might as well jump in and get a few from the orc. I bought the arrows and ate some grapes loitering around the grape vines till I saw a rush of people, just sort of followed them from there.

Ziel you see this is were you literally put your foot in the mouth. Not even being present to the quest in question and of course a lack actual "shit" being present has made your statement erroneous.there were more Gms then alot of this OOC shit would calm down
As i dont hang around supposed quest areas awaiting a Gm's arrival or walk around in game asking people for no apparent reason if monsters are going to attack. This is a non issue to me, I must assume by your expierence you have been hanging around to witness it. The answer is of course dont do it and if we all stop doing soon the 2-3 people standing around drahkens lair are going to begin to look silly.P1: "Hmm.. Why is everyone hanging about Drakhen's layer"
P2 checks his watch
A rumbling noise is heard from Drakhen's layer.
p2: Chip chip! Right on time
Once again the actual point is the quests are meant to entertain the community. We had a point were only 2-3 or people turned out for the a quest I recall the GM in question being moste dissapointed that all there hard work was only to be enjoyed by 3 people.
We need to seek ways to make quests more all inclusive not exclusive, announcements in game and out of game make the quests accesable.
All power to that

Would of course be nice to see people sticking to character more dureing these events but that of course will come with time and pratice, I hope.

Incase you havent noticed, alot of people are currently annouyed at the games status. No names will be given, but you can rest assured i am on that list.Pendar wrote:Ziel you see this is were you literally put your foot in the mouth. will list only one, the one that would give me the least horrific feedbck:
The community should just chill out.
Noobs:
Take into consideration we were all noobs at one point, and there is no reason to fear them. Every day i see and noob and laugh that is all. You people seem to cowar from the idea of someone who cant RP as high as you set the par.
Me..:
I dont undetstand why everyone cant just try and forget about my past. In the past days i have been TRYING to chill out. However it just seems you all cant let go. <someone> informed me i dont need to ask for a second chance, but it is becoming more and more clear I either need to beg or bribe for this to happen. What do you guys want? Porn?
He said She said:
It is increasing in the ammount of OOC complaints that each person recieves. Whether it is stat based, or forced rp, it seems that you cant RP without filling out a form exsplaining every point of view avialable.
------
Tis all i can think of. If you want one of the hidden reasonss, then PM me. I will tell you one based on how well i know you, i doubt id PM one of my you-know-who-you-are s without worring about rumors or the such.
