Desolation

Post by Maliss »

I shall trouble your lands no further your hospitality has been gracious
How he wished in that single moment to grab the man wrap his arms around him, like a brother and tell him that grief bound them together. That the gods were merciful her suffering was ended.
Yet how could he lie to the man, simply for comfort discounting the fact that he would probably never be able to look at Aristeaus again.

He had sat and watched the flames consume his love and all his hope for the second time in his life.
The weight in his chest told him if he let him self weep he wouldn’t stop for days. Again he longed for death and felt an old chill rising in his belly. He remaining eye seemed to harden in its socket again the gods had played him for a fool again. He snarled low in his throat as he entered the woods, Oldras home the liars own realm.
What use was the arrow, if it didn’t free her…damn you!
Silence answered as he took a slow seat on the soft forest floor,
“Alone kitten, as I am meant to be. Travel safely find your peace.”
”I will live, yes I told you the gods hate me to much to kill me”
His chest seemed to ache unbearably were he had cradled the dead girls body against him.
Your were right beloved, the gentlest touch hurts unbearably. I would die to see you smile again, perhaps I never knew you even or smiles so cruel and bathed in agenda, yet lying gods bear witness I loved you entirely. I am sorry endlessly….

He wept then despite his wish to hide his pain from his own heart, ragged, broken and alone he spent his grief in sobs against the trunk of tree.
Pain is my legacy, and time my only asset…
like the tide and you cannot win against the tide. with time on its side...

As I am so I remain
Maliss…

he rolled the name from his tongue as if tasting it for the first time.
