Up and Coming Black smiths

Post by Erart Ridoc »

Dear Fledgling blacksmiths,

I know it is hard for many of you to suceed in your business at the high cost of doing business, buying handles and other goods. Therefore for 3 days only, I am offering a special trade for sword handles and axe handles. Many other carpenters are now groaning to hear that I Erart Ridoc am offering a deal on these items, but to do my part in your education come see me, I will be in town normally at the shop for the next three days to provide you with details of this spectacular savings I am offering you. Believe my you dont want to miss this. Oh yes and to make it all very fair. The following people are exempt

Salathe
Durin Silberbart

From what I hear these are the best blacksmiths on the island, well guess what they wont be able to participate in this fantastic savings. Hurry Before Time Runs out

Oh and for those of you that are very tricky you can obtain my wares and sell them to these two giants of your trade at a profit. Think of That

A small note is pinned onto the large one

Oh yes and after the 3 days are up I decided to lower the cost of sword handles. Come talk to me for details. And as always I am willing to trade goods for goods.

Another note is pinned next to the small one.

Erart...
I am sorry if you take offense at this, but I feel that I must say it.

You talk about helping out the 'poor up-and-coming blacksmiths'... but what about the other carpenters who are just learning, to whom sword handles are the first thing they've been able to sell for more than a copper? 7-10 copper is not unreasonable for a sword handle, considering how much the finished swords are sold for.

If this is the behavior of the Master of a Carpentry Guild, wanting only to make a copper for himself and with no concern to what his actions would do to those less fortunate in the trade, it is certainly no guild that I would ever be interested in joining.

A note is pinned to the wall

Maggie,

First any and all carpenters not apart of my guild are considered compitition. So if you dont increase your prosperity it only allows for more talented carpenters to swoop in and take your profits, I am sorry to say but that is a fact of business, if you wish to suceed you must use what you can to suceed.

Secondly there is no carpentry guild faction on this island as of yet, the guild I am speaking of is many leagues away from the island. Although I may consider taking apprentices after I return from the job that is getting ever so closer.

Thirdly, it took me many long hours of practice and much coin just to get all the blueprints I required. Do not complain because somebody who has spent countless time getting closer and closer to the goal of Grand Mastery is willing to use his skills in any manner he chooses fit.

Also if you and your fellow carpenters wish to speak to me on my lowering of prices of sword handles in three days hence. Come speak to me and declare your reasons why I should not. I am a reasonable halfling.
