Obviously the internet is working if he posted in the forum.
Do you have a firewall? Linksys products have never given me a problem, so do you have a software firewall? Do you have SP 2 installed? Sometimes SP2 causes problems. Also, make sure the necesary ports aren't being blocked. I'm not sure which ports Illa usues, but I think martin posted it in a thread somewhere.

1) Windows XP service pack 2
2) SOme really good firewalls allow you to actually allow a program to acess the internet without blocking it.. see if this option is avalable.. otherwise TURN it off.. and turn off the thingy in the security centre as well
3) Didn't understand i thing
4) Me to... never had problems

Norton gives me the option to block or allow programs when I run them. I set it to allow for Illarion.Hadrian_Abela wrote:1) Windows XP service pack 2

How can I check the service pack?
On #3 I meant: How do I tell what Ports I am using?

1. Go to windows system settings.
2. Check if you can find the "Windows Firewall" thing. If not there, you don't have SP2 installed, continue with 4.
3. If it's there, open it and set status to "inactive".
4. Norton firewall is quite mean sometimes. If you have allowed the illarion.exe to access the internet inboth directions and that didn't help, try to ADD the illarion.exe MANUALLY again a second time, WITHOUT removing the other one first.
ONLY if that does NOT work, remove all illarion-exes from your allowed list, then add it again. It may be necessary to restart Norton though.
Do THIS if the above does not work.
Your WLAN-"bridge" seems to be a simple network bridge. Although even a bridge system can work as router, some of those actually. I don't know your system.
Make sure that you are not connected to the internet. Only if your PC does NOT dial ANYTHING, the below can help.
Click the "start" button. There, open the execute-thingy. Type in "cmd". With windows XP, the command line window should open.
There, at the good old DOS prompt, type in : "ipconfig", then hit the return/enter button.
You will see a list of all your network adapters.
There, look at the line "Standard Gateway". IF it shows something, note that down. IF your bridge acts as a Router, you will find something. Normally, it's kinda "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.254.254" or somehing like that. IF it is there.
Then, close the window. Open your browser. Type in the number you have found as standard gateway without the www thing, it must loook like :
http://192.168... <- standard gateway here
IF you then get a setup or status or configuration screen of your device, it can be considered as being a router (normally). Look there if it dials for your PC, if you have more than one PC installed this is NECESSARY. So don't change it.
Look for Ports and Firewall settings there. Use the bridge manual thing as help, it will tell you passwords and all necessary stuff you need. Allow the needed Ports.
Should help.
Another reason may be that your PC is suffering from Spyware effects. Go to www.adaware.com and download and install AdAware. This nice little tool will remove lots of mean buggers your antivirus program does not care for
That's all possibilities i can think of. Except for re-installing windows

I found out that I had SP2 but the firewall was already set to off. I also have Ad-Aware now.Damien wrote:1. Go to windows system settings.

When I did the "CMD" thing this is what It came up with:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-Specific DNS Suffix .:
Ip Address: . . . . . . . . . . .: 192.168.0.11
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . .: 255.255.255.0
Defult Gateway . . . . . . . .: 192.168.0.1
The norton thing didn't work either with manually adding it. I came up with: This already is here bla blla bla do you want to modify it?

then, have a look at :
http://192.168.0.1
It is a router, as it seems. It can have an in-built firewall.
Read the routers documentation for login and configuration !

What I do not understand is that i am able to play: Plane Shift, Maple Story, Furcadia(Don't play at all really), Tibia(Deleted it), Endless Online, and Eternal Lands. But I cannot play Illarion! It is about the only one I cannot acces! Oh! I forgot to mention that my connection resets every hour on the hour.
