People of Varshikar,
As I am sure many of you may have noticed we have not come to any satisfactory agreement around the issue of taxation. This is of course a cause for concern for me as well as Marie and Faladron whose money we hold in trust until issue is resolved.
It is my understanding that Lennier offered a loom and spinning wheel in exchange for half the desert you claimed. We would also then agree to lower taxes against yourselves. As tribute to Lennier and his service I will let this deal stand.
My only other option is to annex half the desert from northern control and take to taxing the people of the north in earnest. As the above offer is so fair i would see it as a sure sign cooperation was impossible if it was turned down.
I will await an answer in person or by dove from those who speak for you.

I cannot speak for Lord Aristeaus but he is very busy with various matters of State. Your continued patience would be appreciated. A little more time should see this matter closed.
As one non-diplomat to another my friend, threats are not a good tool for smooth negotiations. I also must admit to being surprised that you did not seek to finalise this agreement at your recent meeting with Lord Aristeaus.
However, in the interest of good relations, I will use what little influence I have to try to bring a resolution to this matter.

It was unfortunate that the last meeting ended up more in a debate of the conduct of my guard. It was an important issue and I am pleased we reached an agreeable solution on at least that point.
Just yesterday the issue of movement of "troops" in the desert was brought to me in a less than friendly manner. Also currently a citizen of my town is in debt to the tune of over a 1000 coppers through the northern tax. This is not a complaint; it does how ever make apparent that the issue has not gone to sleep in this time we sit with out resolution.
While for my part I have made no effort to tax the growing number of northern citizens who trade and work in and around trollsbane going as far as to allow those with care enough to ask me permission to trade until matters are settled.
How ever it falls to me in my station to speak my mind clearly and seek this resolution now or do the people I serve a grave disservice.
Please find no threat in my words for I have spoken I have set no time frame, such are my choices as I see them I am open to discussion on the matters.
Please also be aware that while I have made no effort to claim tax or make northern citizens anything but welcome. The tax from the northern side has been pursued to the letter at least such is certainly the case with Kamik.
In closing I see a growing number of northern friends about time, I find it hard to believe that non of them eat pork or engage in some business or another about trollsbane. So of course I seek a solution.

The Shadow, again, finishes another document with a handwritting that doesn't belong to him, with a signature that doesn't belong to him, with words he would never use. But then, he smirks under his hood and pins it to the wall and sits under a tree, watching as the citizens begins to notice and read the parchment on the wall of, maybe, someone else, not him; he never wrote it. He is a shadow. And shadows never write. They just follow and wait silently.
On the walls, you notice a dirty parchment, with what seems to be earth, and a handwritting of someone who doesn't seem to use a pen often:
As a farmer and a citizen of Varshikar, I would like to make a suggestion to the North concerning our animals. It occured to me that, instead of importing the leather and the ham from Troll's Bane, it would be better if we could make a negotiation to buy some pigs to our own town. Not only our taylors will be able to have some resources without the need of a travel or spend copper, but the food for our people will not need to be bought. Also, I must add that the food will not need to be stocked during the harsh winters of the cold mountain weather.
I am sure the animals will survive in a weather different from the one they are used to. For that, I give both my hands ready to work with them and prepare their growing and brewing.
With this idea accepted and, hopefully, done, we can think of building a smoke oven and the tools the taylors might need.
Looking foward to see the result of this project,

The matter of tailoring is allready being dealt with. Tools are being supplied by the south, and as to the survival of the pigs we have none to make sure the beasts are cared for. It is still viable to purchase the leathers from the south as we have commodities of far higher value.

As I said, I would care for the pigs, Lord Aristeaus. And if you meant the Ogres, we can easily deal with them as we are already doing for the sheeps. If still anything not expected happens, I would take full reponsability for being the one in charge of the pigs.
Let me just advise you that, with the current taxes and laws, very underestandable on my opinion, we don't know for how much long we will be able to count with the south for fair prices.

While pigs would be a good idea, as would some farmland, there are far mor important matters to attend to. Resources would be better spent on the rebuilding and expansion at this time.
As to the situation with Trollsbane, though there has been no official announcement as yet, rest assured that we have good relations with them. We have resources available which we can trade for the ham and leather. We can also travel to Trollsbane and make use of their facilities. Just do not abuse their hospitality and you will be left in peace.
