About the SMACC-council - anyone really thought about detail

Post by Sharag »

Reading much about the future SMACC-council, I wondered, whether anyone ever thought about some details.

1.) Of how many members will it consist?

2.) Or how many votes does a candidate need to be elected?

3.) What does count as "yes"? A post in the forum? Or does anyone want to make a ((online))  poll?

4.) Will there be a chairman? (without more influence, only to manage meetings, for example)

5.) Will the members have deputies, that take the members' places, when these are not able to come?

6.) Who is excluded from candidating? Known people with bad behaviour?

7.) What does lead to an exclusion from the council after the election?

8.) And the most important question at all: Who may decide about all of these questions?
It's the old historical question after a revolution: Do you first want to create the basic conditions for a government (any kind of, in this case an economical council) or do you first elect this government and let it create its own constitution?
In history the second possibility never ended well.

In my opinion, these questions HAVE to be answered, before anything further is done.

About the SMACC-council

Post by Rovac »

well, I and two friends of mine thought about entering the SMACC, especially because Lenniers new view of the things is one I really can agree with, but it seems that noone is able to answer the questions Sharag asked...
I also believe that these questions are the ones to deal with before asking for support of the people, as I am not able to support an institution that may hurt me in long terms.
So, as long as no clear statement is made on this issue, none of my friends will join the SMACC..

Sincerely, Rovac.

1.) My guess would be about 7~13 people... that sounds about right
2.) A fair number... more of a support from the community than actual votes would be my guess...
3.) The above answer kind of answers this one too I think...
4.) The likelyhood of this is high, I am guessing it will be someone to pretty much just make sure everyone gets a chance to speak on the issues... with the right kind of council the role is somewhat obsolete though.
5.) Good idea!
6.) People of bad reputation is probably the main limiting factor.
7.) Breaking a ton of the rules, trying to get others on the council assassinated... that kind of thing...

8.) Me! Why? Because I am guessing, and because I am aloud to guess... The person who coined the idea is probably going to have the actual say in it (at least initially) ;) but I think my guesses probably aren't too far off, if they are, then I am really sorry.
