Search for the Legendary Mana Well - part 2 of making the Ma
Legend has it that long ago a lake made of mana was discovered by the men of the king's court. The lakebed was a garden of bulbsponge mushrooms and red heads which produced a natural lake filled with near endless endless mana. Overjoyed, the king sent his wizards to the Mana Lake. The great Archmage Oraijis bent down at the side of the lake and scooped up a handful of mana in his hands and looked at it. Then he let it run through his fingers and flow back into the lake, stood up and proclaimed these words:
"Any living thing who drinks from this lake will suffer a fate a thousand times worse than that of death and bring upon chaos and destruction."
..and with those words, no one dared touch the waters of the Mana Lake for over a hundred years until Oraijis died. Without the powers of Oraijis, the kingdom lost many wars, leaving a huge debt and the economy began to plummet. An overzealous young wizard named Ebediz convinced the king to harness the Mana Lake and sell them to other kingdoms or use them as payment. The king, in desperation to save the falling kingdom, agreed.
They built a well over the lake and bottled the mana to pay them as war debts and sold them to other kingdoms for money. Their abundant supply allowed them to sell for a lower price than anyone and soon they revived their economy and even owned the market. After a few days, Ebediz saw that nothing happened to those who drank the mana. So then once again he convinced the king to give mana from the lake to their own wizards instead, and that Oraijis was wrong. The king once again agreed, and with the endless mana supply, their wizards becamed more effective and won more battles in wars.
The other kingdoms soon heard about the Mana Lake and sought to gain control of it. Suddenly it seemed as if all other countries were invading. The king built a castle around the well to defend it from their enemies. The kingdom entered a dark age of war and more knights and peasants died than ever. The king then remembered the words of Oraijis and threw the young Ebediz into prison. But this was not what Oraijis meant by his words. One day as the battles wore on, many of the enemy soldiers fell to the ground strangely and howled in pain. At first the king thought this was a good sign, but then parts of their body began to change and became disfigured. They transformed into rotworms and began to kill everything around them, regardless of who they were. Then the same thing happened to all the people who had drank the mana from the well and the king finally understood the meaning of Oraijis's words, but it was too late.
Eventually the rotworms destroyed everything where they appeared, leaving the kingdoms in ruin, and few people escaped to tell the tale...
Now I seek this Mana Well as part of my quest to create the Magic Sword. The sword needs to absorb an enormous amount of mana, and this well of undrinkable mana is the best place to do it. I hear rumors of people who have seen the ruins of the legendary Mana Well before and that some rotworms still prowl the area. I seek brave explorers who will bring me to this place.

Waah... strange thing. I would be highly interested in exploring that... so i will join, and take the job of healing warriors and poisoning eventually approaching rotworms, so our blocking warriors can kill them easier. Uhm... there ARE blocking warriors, are there ?
#me looks around, realizes that no rotworm is there, and relaxes.
I'm not coming when there are not enough skilled warriors for mage protection.

I'll be a party member of this quest, I'm sure being an Archer/Druid will come in handy to you.
Also, you may wish to seek out the Seer, Eliven. He may have seen this well.
As for me, I have explored the entire map of Illarion. The well may very well be lost or destroyed, but we must not lose hope.
#me thinks of dipping some of his armor and swords in the well-waters.

Sure, why not... count me in if you need a druid who's got only 50 some mana potions and in seek for a source of more mana potions. I'll be needing a large amount of mana potions to sell anyways. But don't say I'm useless, I can beat my way through alot of things that you'll never imagine of, just so you know...

The well is NOT a source of mana potions. It is a dangerous thing with POISONOUS Mana potions in it.

Peggy, you should start reading more. Those who drink these potions, turn to rotworms or worse, and then will attack you more effective, and all other people.

As you know I am a Knight and I would be proud if you decide that I am qualified enough to help and protect the mages. I also search informations what was happened in my home country some years ago and maybe this can be a chance for me to find peoples who I can ask about that.
But first of all i´ve to ask the High Council of The Knights of The Grey Rose if i can go or they have other orders for me.
Yours....

Hmmm, I am interested in this history. If we find the ruins of the lake, what are we going to do with it? Use magic and burn the mana water, then the bulbspongue? Ohh well, I know that I am strong enough to handle most things, I would love to join. Under one condition. All the rot worms I fend off, I keep there remains and all the jewls they have eaten? Is that ok? If it isn't, I would still like to go on this quest. It sounds honorable, I need a better reputation any way. Ohh and Erdrick, I was on bad terms with you when I drew a picture of you with a pig, I would appreciate it if you would forgive me . I will go on this journy with you if you will allow it to be so. I am quite a warrior and I KNOW I will be of use to you mages.
Sincerely,

Rangers does not necessarily mean archers. Protectors of Peace and Harmony in nature is more like it

We will begin an expedition to the Mana Well this Friday, March the 22nd, at 9pm GMT (12pm Pacific time) and meet in front of the shop. Anyone who wishes to join should be aware there may be dangerous rotworms of ancient strength prowling around. I also seek a brave lizardman who will dive to the bottom of the lake to investigate and bring back a sample of the herbs on the lakebed, in hopes that we can find a way to help victims who drank from the well. There is no guarantee that it will be safe to breath the mana though, so whoever dares to take this task should be ready for the worse.

I cannot be there at that time, maybe around 3:15 in the afternoon Eastern America time.

I would love to join this expedition, as i think i know a lot of gandela's fate and having had these visions about Xelark and some secret dwarf society.
But unfortunately other more important tasks await me on the set date.
Maybe Saturday would fit better, not only for me but the others too.....
