If I substituted 10 for 9 would that have made a difference? I didn't mean nine actual times bigger, it was just a slight exaggeration in proving my method of thinking. TB is easy to find from the harbour if you think like the old map. That's all. Forget I said 10 or 9 or any number. My point still stands. The map is bigger and the distances are bigger. Most things are still in the same direction.

Re: What is wrong with illarion/Was läuft falsch in Illarion
Because when there are say 8 people on,Cassandra Fjurin wrote:Why? Why is illarion boring.
5 are probably fighting trolls or ogres
and the other 3 are wandering in the 3 (9) times larger map, with certain odds of finding eachother
True, things are a little slow since the map enlargement, but nothing can really be done about that. The map was too small before and access to certain areas was impossible for rather silly reasons, like the Grey Rose Castle practially made the north west of the isle part of trolls bane since you had to be allied with them to get through to it.
The problem is that everyone wants different things, and you can't satisfy everyone. It's as simple as that I think.

I'm not 2 sure yer in the rite place bc yer resons being that you wona get away from RL, forme a party to kill a mob, and stand out frome the crowd?
Sorry. We don't stand out from the crowd because all the person graphics are the same. It will take a long while until you are able to kill anything big.
And for goodness sakes, while you're w8ting for your "acceptance" read the manuals, peruse the forums and learn how to type properly. I'm pretty sure w8te isn't a word. And neither is reson. Dono, forme, frome I'm iffy on and app isn't the abbrieviation for accepted.

I think what Quin meant was that 1337-speak is not really tolerated here. Illarion's players must use proper grammer and spelled out words, like it is common and normal in the English language (and not what is common on the internet). Call us dumb or whatnot, but around here in Switzerland, they don't teach 1337-speak in school. Which reminds me—the other reason you should not use 1337-speak is because this game's community also consists of German-speaking players. Some already have difficulties reading English by itself, when it's written correctly, so cut them some slack, why won't you be so kind?
Secondly, judging from what you wrote about what you're looking for in an MMORPG, what you're looking for in an MMORPG is boring in Illarion. There are no magic items. Big mobs that people have to team up to hunt down. Most of all, people can, no, MUST seperate between themselves and their characters, as it is about roleplaying, and not a common MUD. In short, I'd recommend looking for another game if you are being serious.
PS: If you wrote the application the way you're posting here, you can forget about being accepted. Sorry if I sound harsh, but nobody ever liked me because I try to speak the truth.

No sweat; I also did not mean to come across as insulting or angry, instead I just wanted to be as straightforward as possible. If you want to collect items that make "you" (let's seperate—do you mean "you, the player", or "your character"?) stand out in the crowd and kill monster mobs, really, this game will bore you to death. People here enjoy witty dialogues, interesting characters, and generally, roleplaying. This game offers only very little of the common things known from MUDs and other MMORPGs, because it is simply against the design ideal of the developers.
well..
well if this is a kind of text rpg i relly don't mind much i like to read a bit.
You event a name... you think its good for your char..
Then you get "Name rejected"... why?
Could we have something like "Name rejected -> Rules X,Y,Z"
better that way...IMHO
EDIT [added]->
Carpentry for example... you create a lot of things , gain skill... and you literally climb a stair... you could create 3 objects.. now 6... wouldn't it be better if you gain 1 item at a time... faster...?

Bugs and Documentation
Here's a view from a newbie on what might be wrong in Illarion.
On first impression I was absolutely thrilled by this world and all the RP between the players. But what frustrated me quickly is the number of bugs and unfished things and the total lack of documentation for them.
If something doesn't work that's ok, but a simple and easy to find OOG list what doesn't work would be very helpful. It is no fun spending all evening trying to get something to work in game, just to find an old post after some searches in the forum that it isn't implemented or has never worked.
Following hints from an obsolete handbook leads to the same kind of frustration.
I think it might help to catch and hold more new players, if there was an explicit link to a document with a concise summary what doesn't work.
