So heres the deal, I used to play a long long time ago, back before we even had to fill in applications, so I feel kinda odd coming to the newbie forum.
But looking through the forums its clear that along with a new build theres been plenty of in-game changes aswell as out of game.
So Im hoping people would be kind enough as to fill me in on whats going down nowadays. For example, what is magic like? Old system (quests to get runes) Newish system (learn from other peeps) or have we reverted to mega old system where you could buy them all in the shop, heh, good days.
And what are the current events? Is the goverment still up, what was it the lyrenzia foundation I think it was called. And what about northerott? does it still exist, and what about Varshika, Ive never even heard of this place before.
So I know its a bit vague, and alot I could find out from the game, but untill my account is re-accepted I'd like a little info to prepare me as it were.
Hope its not to much to ask,
Cheers,
Fara.

Magic isn't yet implemented, Will come the next weeks / months ...
Northerot doesn't exist, but Varshikar is build on its ruins.
Troll's Bane is leaded by the Triumvirat, Lennier and Pendar and a third one , who is elected. Or to say it in other words from Grey Rose and Townguard. Lyrenzia has vanished.

Well, to get technical:
Lyrenzia was replaced by the Triumverate, which consisted of the Earl of the Grey Rose, the Captain of the Guard, and an elected official. In turn, the Triumverate, after losing their elected officials twice, became the Town Council, which consists of the Captain of the Guard and the Earl of the Grey Rose--together with direct votes from citizens.
Northerot was taken down, but so many groups claim to have done the dirty deed that I don't even want to say who took down Northerot. In any case, the land that once belonged to Lord Darlok was taken by the Bloodskulls, who in turn made an agreement with several other groups that began the building of the city of Varshikar (Varshikar means "Veralion, Aristeaus, Shukk, I and Karmane" Cute, huh?) The leadership was a strange council situation which lead to several vyings for power. The Council (originally the above) soon changed hands to Veralion, Fooser, Sherg, and another Shenosss (name slips my mind). Then, it was reasserted as being Aristeaus, Moskher Heszche, Lysu Davanum, Fooser, and Sherg. Eventually, with more political infighting, the council was dropped and Aristeaus proclaimed himself Lord of the North.
The magic system is well on it's way. Soon. Very soon. Priest magic and bard magic should be coming out around the same time.

Ok, thanks for that both, and I see we have some new gamemasters *bows*
What about the more nitty gritty workings of the game itself, are attributes in effect, do you need multiple things to make anything, what are the skills like, is it still at a ridiculously hard level, etc etc
Ive been reading alot of stuff on the boards, but its hard to tell what has happened and when, some stuff ive read about seems to have been changed, post wipe. Speaking of which, that was a brave move, I can imagine how much people would have complained.
Any and all helpful info is appreciated,
Thanks in advance,
Fara.

There is a skill cap, same basic skill system, supposedly you can gain more skill per item you make. There are many many more items now. There is a visable quality/condition for almost every item, given it would have it. Most foodstuffs don't have a quality/condition that I can see. All weapons and armor suffer deterioration from use, and eventually break. Most raw materials require some kind of processing before they can be used. A large spectacularly designed map, and at least 1 dungeon so far that can be accessed.
Also, all attributes are used. Be intuitive when distributing your attributes, just think. Also look at the examples Estralis gave too.

Just another piece of the rollercoaster that is that chunk of land north of the desertAegohl wrote: Northerot was taken down, but so many groups claim to have done the dirty deed that I don't even want to say who took down Northerot.
