Hey arn't You...

The Problem--> A guy walks in an you see he has a red bar under him... he says he is looking for something....
A few minutes later he is gone, and you find that you have the something... so you go look for him... and discover that half the people have the same bar color

Problem 2--> Someone is unknown,,, and you hear someone address him as ****... yet he remains Unknown..

My ideas

1.) SHorten the numbers so you can re-identify the person... i mean even if you dont know the name, you know you have seen him/her b4

2.) Graphics...

3.) Allow the user to change the other person's name on his character... ie if you heard a guy being called XXXX you change his name instead of someone to XXXX.... or if he is looking 4 an item you change it to Guy who wants a ****.... This should be similar to the #i.. but the other person chooses what to name the character

Use the !name command.

!name <number> <name you want to give them, eg Odd man>

1.) Please, no. There were times when numbers were much shorter, and when someone didn't like a certain player, they would relay the short and easier memorable ID#'s to other players, making it unnecessarily hard for people who work with stealth, disguising, and generally, as crooks. (which was also bad RP on the behalf of those people spreading the #'s)

2.) Make 'em. ;)

3.) This is already implemented with a command:
!name 654360634 Wicked Thief
You use !name, the ID# you can read, and add a name at the end you want to see appearing from there on. It's stored then, it will always display this name like that till you use !name with their ID# again, or till they use #i with you.

1) Isn't possible due to technical limitations. The long numbers where necessary to have enough possible charnumbers.
In the four years before the wipe with the short numbers, the limit was reached two or more times and needs hardcode changes, where most people lost there names they knew through #i.
Now, the limit will hopefully never be reached.
