Funny thing. I was under the assumption that the elven village was on the island somewhere in the North and while looking for it I came across a pretty spot on the map and I said to myself "Yastahl goes here. It's too pretty for him to be anywhere else" and so he stands there.
I like Yastahl, but he doesn't fit into the plans of what we're going to do with languages (at the time, we really had no idea, and we were in a rush to get things done for the wipe), and he doesn't work (although his scripting shouldn't be all that different from that of Tihgorac, of whom's dialogue structure, quest, and the way he works is highly based upon). Oh well, maybe Yastahl will come back in another form someday. He was fun writing dialogue for.
If you're curious as to his full quest(as it was supposed to be):
He sends you looking for flowers.
Upon recieving the flowers, he asks you to bring him some Sibanac to smoke while he's teaching his lesson.
If your skill is low enough, you find that many words in your language are based on Elven and learn a bit from him.
If your skill is too high, he rattles on about things you already know and by the time he gets to something more interesting he's got a buzz off the sibanac and no longer makes sense.

Must be a twin brother at that!Galim wrote:lol, is Yastahl a brother of Damien?
Anyways, since I don't want to spam, I'll just highlight the most important point to draw from this thread, which has been buried between some rather lengthy brackets:
