Name rejected.

Post by Tinari »

Hello.

My account was accepted, and my name was rejected.

Is there some sort of nomenclature I need to follow that I am unaware of, because I do not know or have any idea of why the name was rejected otherwise.

As an aside, I read through the name rules section again, and can still see no way that my name violated any rule or suggestion. With no feedback, I have no idea what to change in any part to make it accepted.

*sigh*

Is Tinari the name you used? And what race is the character you were trying to create?

Well, I wanted the name to be anonymous, but since it has to be deleted now, I guess that doesn't matter.

The name was Kaotika. Elven, female.

Perhaps it was that the Kaotic part is a lot like the word "Chaotic."

Hrm, I've never heard it pronounced that way, but that's the only viable option I can think of now.

Kay oh tea kah.

Cay ah tik

Hrm, I can see some similiarity. Oh well.

I have another question. IF I use the name Tinari, would it be rejected? I saw that I had 30ish posts as of this, and found that strange since I registered for an account a few days ago.

The last time I played this game was aaaaages ago. I did a forum search for "Tinari" and found that in 2005, Dyluck posted a link for a game, "Legends of Illarion." On page five of this post, in the spoiler, the name "Tinari" is mentioned as one of the characters in the game that you help.

Now, my first post under the name Tinari was in 2001. Of course, that also let me find the name of a player that I miss... *sigh*

Anyway, would the fact that I've used Tinari for four years on the forums here, and have in the past override the fact that Tinari was a minor character in a game with the name Illarion in it, or would it be rejected? Just curious.

Honey, if you're referring to the suggestion that character names not be taken from computer games, and therefore my game, you don't have to worry about a thing. Especially when "Tinari" and all the character names in "Legends Of Illarion", and the game itself, is basically a retelling of the history and stories of the real Illarion itself. So my "Tinari" is based on YOUR character. It would be pretty down right hilarious if a name was deemed bad because it was already on a spinoff game which took the name from Illarion itself! Just cross your fingers and hope nothing else is wrong with Tinari, such as it being the name of some obscure foreign cuisine.

Curious how fates unwind and intertwine by the most unlikely coincidences...

Really? I am now tempted to play that game to see. Heh, lords.. it's sad my first post ever was to complain about the two shield thing, but that is neither here nor there. Kaotika was a name I liked, but I have plenty more. I may use Tinari, but I am generally reluctant of people knowing who I am in the forum and who I am in game. Too many bad things in my prior RP based games and forums.

Tinari sounds good for me. Kaotika was too close to "chaos" like "chaotika" or so. the connection with "chaos" was too close.

Yes, yes, I have matured a bit since then. I'd have posted that much differently if I were to find it a problem today.
