This is a really simple question but I figured I would ask it anyway.
When playing with languages what do we do it as?
Im assuming in orc speak I would use perfect grammer because it is not english, and although it is primitive, it would all be completely understandable, with few differences in Dialects or pronunciations. But on the other hand it is supposed to be primitive.
So the question is: when speaking orc do I use perfect Grammer or poor?

Well, with a lizard character I spoke in perfect grammar, but that is a different situation, seeing as the difference is that the lizard's speech impediment (the hissing sounds) is due to biological differences. That being said, those biological differences would be used in a lizard language, rather than being an accident.
With orcs the difference in the way they talk is both biological (large teeth to speak through) *and* due to their poor, erm, educations. That being said, I think that orcs would use proper grammar in their native tongue, more often than not, but they would more than likely keep their sentences short with few descriptive words.

I will be creating the dialogues of more such NPC's in time. Martin is aware of the bugs in the elf. However, don't expect that you'll be great in Elven because of Yastahl (or any other language because of another NPC)--they only teach the basics. You might be able to piece together a few words and from that piece together a full sentence. The chance of misunderstanding that sentence is also there.
We've talked about books teaching the languages more fully, and that is a possibility, perhaps; as such are most things, but always they are punctuated with the phrase "with time."

I have a question.
If you die too many times (and this has happend to me on numerous occasions, but not in this client...) and you get multi-killed, your Common language goes down, as does your other language.
So at a point, you wno't be able to understand or speak any, will you?
This would just make me delete the char and start over if i couldn't communicate with anyone...
Maybe you could not lose any common skill, but you might lose some of your race's language skill? I dunno, but i'd hate to not be able to talk or hear.
