A large banner on the walls...

Post by Durin Goldtooth »

Greetin's fellow dwarves!

I want to ask you all something that is very important.

We dwarves have the best craftmanship in all the lands! We have the potential to bring in lots o' gold for silverbrand! The way we do this is keep our secrets to ourselves, and keep our tools to ourselves.

We need all dwarves to comply. You may not know how to smith, but you can still help.

We would like to make Silverbrand the source of armour and weapons for the other cities. We could get lots of gold and beer for this, and it would be very beneficial!

So I ask you. Dwarves, do not sneak into silverbrand and sneak tools or secrets out with ye'!

As someone told me jus' earlier, we have an opoloy. Wait no.. an omonpoly. NO... it was Monopoly! Yar, monopoly. We have a monopoly because noone else can get tools or secrets they need, unless we dwarves tell them.

Now, We have a good pride! We won't tell them, will we?
Arr tha's a good lad! So keep our secrets, keep our tools, and sell armour an' weapons!

Thanks,
~Durin Goldtooth, along with other dwarves of silverbrand~

We in turn have a monopoly on many basics. Infact unless i miss my guess all the simple traders on the isle reside in trollsbane. Yet we do not call this a monopoly. We do not have a monopoly on saws and carpentary no indeed we see this as an oppurtunity to share and grow closer. How many dwarfs I have taught to wield a saw these past days escapes me. Yet I assure you many have asked.
On an island we all share holding back a tool needed for black smithing is as greedy as it is simplistic. Be glad Durin that i dont view you as a voice for silverbrand and bar dwarfs from useing our shop. Instead asking them to trade smithed goods for seeds, saws and clothes.
Yours as always

Durin, I want from you a list of the dwarves who speak with you. And please, don't speak for Silverbrand as long as you didn't get the right to do that. When you got the right, than proof this somehow. As long as there is no proof I may not believe or listen to yourwords when you speak for Silverbrand.

And Durin, you should know that there is a human trader selling tools too. We just havebetter prices. Don't make our possible customers angry on Silverbrand with such words shouting at them in the name of Silverbrand. By the way, I can't find your name on the scroll of citizens, are you a citizen of Silverbrand yet, Durin Goldtooth?

I think your king would decide if you are a citizen or not.

As Rackere reads the new post on the Troll's Bane boards he just shrugs.
The evening, he went back to Silverbrand and checks the scroll of citizens before going to bed.
A message appears at the boards the next day:

Neither Durin Goldtoth nor Bromir Feuerhelm are citizens of Silverbrand. They don't have a key to the gate of Silverbrand. So, they can't be living there. ((At least if you consider it with RP, not the OOC ability to open the gate))

Bromir, indeed, Galim is both our Bishop and a royal citizen. And he is totally right. Dwarves who aren't even cititzens of Silverbrand shall never speak in the name of the town.
And if you don't even know our glorious king Tialdin you can never be a citizen. He is said to be still alive. We also have a vice king, Caranthir.

For them being not on the island, Fjalara is our current souvereign.

Behave yourselves,

Pah...Tialdin, Caranthir, Fjalara. WHERE ARE THEY? Just a couple of long forgotten Names. They should appear or crumble to dust.

Rackere becomes angry

They ARE there. You will notice. There will be no new king without Tialdin be dead and that won't happen that fast.

It remains unsigned

I don't know who you are Bromir, but I'm sure I never saw you. And how can you say that I'm a fading name in time. I'm pretty much here and taking care of Silverbrand's business.
You wouldn't even recognize me when I'm in front of you Bromir so how can you say I'm never around. Pah! That is impudent.
And I cannot believe that a dwarf tries to speak for the dwarves of Silverbrand. That is unbelievable!

I hearby announce that this banner wasn't approved by the king himself or me and is therefor not valid.

As I said, thank you fjalara, i hope they believe you more.

And I want to add. every dwarf who isn't a citizen of Silverbrand and who "sneeked" into the town of Silverbrand should give a citizen who finds him there a good reason why he is there, if he don't want some serious troubles.

We don't like unallowed intruders or visitors, not even fellow dwarves, not as long as they didn't speak and stood infront of the king or Fjalara or some other wellknown dwarf of Silverbrand with good reputation.
