Ules walked through town, everyone seeming so unfamiliar to him. He tried to remember exactly how it happened.
He had decided a few days ago to figure out the last few things he could carpenter, and maybe then learn to make wands. As he opened his depot, he saw a vast amount of fire, all of his possessions burning, and a mist began appearing around the depot. Ules thought he knew what it was.
"Again, spirit?", Ules said with a smug look. "You'd think you'd be getting tired of it by now."
"Silence!" the voice boomed. It was much different than the one he expected. "I am not that which you think. I am not as powerful as that which you know, I am actually here to warn you, you pathetic mortal"
Ules laughed at this. "What's he going to do? Throw some fire at us then be kissed by a dwarf again? That's best case scenario for him. Then he'll be gone, again."
"FOOL!" the voice yelled in an earth trembling voice. "He is much more powerful now than you could ever know! And since you are not taking my warning seriously...well....I;ve always wanted a mortal vessel!"
The spirit plunged at Ules, immediately entering into his head. Ules had a strong mental defense, much stronger than anyone else he knew, even most elves. Yet, it didn't seem to be enough. What the spirt he knew lacked was ability to enter at hsi own will, yet this spirit seemed different. Ules was able to resist the other one, even when it was in, but this one was taking hold fast. Ules knew what he had to do to stay in control.
His eyes began giving off a bright glow, a white color, and brighter than any stars currently in the sky that night. The mana within him started to heat up, and traveled instantly to his head. The next thing Ules knew, he was knocked out.
When he woke up, the spirit was obviously gone, but the presence did have it's effects. THe first thing he realized was that everything seemed bigger. He knew it would be much easier to get lost now. He recalled anything he had known beforehand, but only in a wordlike format. He couldn't remember details. Particularly faces. He almost immediately ran into Aristeaus, and he only knew that by the fact that Arist was talkign to someone else, who had adressed his name. He talked to him for a bit, then left. His next intention was to go blow off some steam by toasting pigs, but when he got there he couldn't. He had lost his runes. He quickly grabbed a stick to see if he could use it correctly, but he swung it clumsily and dropped it. He couldn't read much either. Another thing he realized was that he only recalled human and common tongues, his vast array of langauges erased. The last two weren't problems, he could learn both fairly quickly, if he coudl find something to teach him.
He then walked off, the warning of the spirit echoing in his head.....
