Repairing the world

Post by martin »

As you may have noticed, there were a lot of repairs done since the loss of your memories.

I had to operate Eliza, her illnes is gone now. She is less confused and talks more. You can ask for "show me a list of your wares" now, which she will do then. (Her brain needed to be corrected somewhat).
Some other permanent inhabitants suffered from brain damages, we operated all of the known victims of that... epidemy.

Some ladders and stairways had broken steps (we used old and partially rotten wood for that, sorry); I exchanged the steps by using new wood now.

We have a shortage on oil which leads to the situation that doors cannot be opened or closed currently, they are stuck. I am searching for oil right now and it seems that I will find one soon.

The start NPC swallowed his tongue by accident; he nearly suffocated and had a shortage on oxygen in his brain. I brought my first aid kit and operated him, he is fine now. He was able to leave hospital very early.

If you encounter problems, have suggestions and so on, don't hesitate to post here. I will check this topic frequently to see what I can correct.

Cherry trees were made of so rotten wood that they would fall over when you tried to reach the cherries. I exchanged them for a species of cherrie tries now.

Hey! No encouraging the Martins to sleep! Can't you see the sign?

Martins don't need sleep. Their noses are always to the grindstone.

Can trader NPC dialogues be simplyfied to, like, keywords, like "wares"?

Actually just "List Wares" and "check price."

Books seem to have become wet in their move while it was raining, and the print is unreadable until they dry out I think.

Many of the NPC's dialogues were written by players like you, and many also written by Martin through bloodshot eyes and the stubble of a man who hasn't gotten any sleep in a while.

If you find Tihgorac or the elf in the far North, which were written (just the dialogue) by myself, you'll find the keywords are often to be found in the preceding sentence of the NPC; however, those two are way out in the middle of nowhere (which was intended =D).

These were all put together on short notice, however. I went through all the dialogues to correct grammar, but not to add ease of use. Perhaps I'll do just that.

Yes.

I am sorry that there are no manuals or explainations yet. I have no time today, as I have to have a meeting with my dentist and then must work at university, but as soon as I find time I will explain everything and ask for imput/improvement/...

Mining works as follows: Try a pick-axe (of course in your hands!) on stones or rocks. GOod luck!

What are the blank books for (the ones that just say 'book')? Are we going to be able to write in these once we can make ink?

Also, anyone figure out where the depots are? I see chests EVERYWHERE but they aren't linked so I'm afraid that others may also have access to them, espescially since I put all my money for one of my characters in one, came back 5 minutes later and it was all gone. (very frustrating, I don't know HOW I'm going to get him started now since there are no high level players to give handouts)

They are the small depots you already had in the last client? Look in the shop in Troll's Bane, you will find one there.

Use Hammer with Bandit seems to be one of the best forms of mining right now. I reccomend it to you highly.

No pickaxes are a new item. How ever if you ask sam or the dwarf at the entrance to silverbrand for one. They will sell you a normal axe. This is obviously a bug.
Once i tracked down a real pick axe, Mining seemed pretty intuitive.

A real pickaxe can be made by smithing people. But since smithing is still bugged (I believe, I cannot make a pickaxe with my smith for some reason.)
