Thief!
Gibble Stood just inside the "" with a potential customer, haggling over the price for his cakes, "10gp each for the cakes." he said.
The stranger responded with, "50 for 7" which of course was absurd. The bantered back and forth till it came to an agreed 55gp for 7. Not at all a price Gibble was pleased with but he was tired and not in good form today. As he set down the 7 cakes for his customer an unknown lizardman walked by. Soon after the customer exclaimed, "HEY! We agreed on 7 cakes, not 6!." It took Gibble a moment to realise what had happened, the lizardman had swiped a cake! However, Gibble had little proof except that thinking back, the lizardman had been following him around ever since they started discussing the transaction so he let it go.
As he left the "", however, he again saw the thief standing beside Pendar, with an enraged orc before the both of them, "Him took me axe and potions!" the orc accused.
It was obvious that the guard was leaning toward believing the lizardman over the orc so Gibble piped up, "Yes, he stole one of my cakes as well."
Pendar then stated, "This lizardman, No. He's always so quiet and never causes any trouble here in town, you must be mistaken."
Since it was obvious that justice was not likely to be served, Gibble just shrugged and stated, "I only bring it up because it happened. One cake is a small thing to me but you had better keep an eye on this lizard as he's trouble.
Gibble then left, figuring that if the guard didn't teach the lizardman a lesson, the orc was sure to once the guards back was turned. However, he had to wonder if others had also had trouble with this lizardman. The lizardman refused to give his name so it's hard to say what the deal was so Gibble dubbed him with the only title that fit...Thief.

((ooc. Not sure if you were looking for replys here or not, if not I apologies and will wrip this note down at speed
. ))
Gibble and other concerned citizens there is indeed a lizard thief amongst us at present. Alas I do not know the indentity of the thief, merely to many reports and complaints for me to ignore.
How ever rest assured gibble that the lizard I stood next to is no thief. I have since discovered that this so called stolen axe, was infact lost after being used to attack the lizard man. I do not wish to expose the lizard to further prosecution from the orcs by naming him publically. How ever Gibble feel free to speak with me in person about this matter. I am sure once you learn the nature of the lizard I was standing by you will understand why I struggle to see him as a petty thief.
Yours humbely

Cain, confused by Byron's assessment of his profit-loss, writes a response to the situations in an elegant elven script.
Is a withered cabbage not useful in the sense that you can harvest required nutrients to replant the cabbage? That is what I have always done. I do not see how one hundred and eight withered cabbages is a lost of money. Perhaps it is not an immediate gain, but it is a form of even better revenue in the future, is it not?
I do agree, however, that this lizard thief needs to be caught. I will be on the look out for shady lizardmen.

A note in small untidy writing is added to these notes
There is a lesson here Byron. Plant a smaller crop or stagger your planting. Also, dont leave your crop unattended.
To lessen the risk of such robbery people should be more careful of their property. Be aware of who is around when you are trading and use the trading areas. Keep your possessions close to hand. This will also help to make the job of the Guards easier by redusing such incidents.
Alternatively you could all come to Varshikar to do your business. It is a really friendly place and a great town to live, work and trade in.
The Bakery is particularly excellent.
See you all in Varshikar soon.

Dear halflings and orcs alike,
Thieves should be watched well and approached with caution.
There is said to be a clan of thieves, though one is not obvious. Do be careful.
As I spend much time at the Farmer's Union, I, and the other Archers of Illar shall gladly lend a hand in helping you to protect your crops, or other possessions you have.
Hopefully we can put a stop to these thieves before they get out of control.
Sincerely,
~Lance Lenaus of the Archers of Illar~
