Want to pop in and say hello to a new community I might become a member of (if they accept my account request).
Too bad I messed up my first request, I forgot to type in my chars description and when I tried to create another I couldn't use the name, really loved that name. I have PM a GM about that and hopefully I can use that name again.
I don't really like I have to wait to be accepted, but at the same time I like it because it will remove some those who call them selves roleplayers but are not.. Hopefully.
I might introduce my self.
My real name is Oskar and live in sweden. My RP experiance is fair, have only played a few games D&D. This will be my first try online. I have played alot of "rpg" online, but they showed up to be more of click and watch your skill grows. rpg? bah!
Been searching the net for a true rpg and I guess I have finally found it. I hope you will accept me as a newcomer.

Please allow me to be the first to welcome you, Oskar. I certainly hope that you will offer your experience in roleplaying to contribute to the slowly growing, generally friendly community of us Illarionites. I look forward to seeing how your roleplay affects the rest of us. Good luck in getting accepted.

Potential means nothing unless it is turned into some kind of force. I wish you luck. And don't worry, we all make silly mistakes when starting. Except me. >_>Malekil wrote:You don't? No no, my reference to the word force meant energy. Potential can only be used if its turned into a sort of RP flow. Obviously potential won't create the RP for you. You have to apply pressure, using whatever your potential resources are (character history, personality, skills, etc), to a situation, to influence it. That's all I meantMalekil wrote:One question.. What do you mean "force"? I have read about it here on the forum, someone said it's like you are blocking someone or something like that... But thats not what I had in mind.
And thanks for welcoming me here.

I think what you're seeing discussed is "Forced RP", which is where a character does something that cannot by any means whatsoever be prevented. An example of this would be using the action, "#me stabs so-and-so until he's dead." Or... "#me chokes so-and-so." To prevent forced RP, it is encouraged that you give some kind of warning sign.. like "#me reaches his hands out to grapple so-and-so by the neck." Its a situational thing that prevents pissing off players that are unable to do anything otherwise, plus it adds flavor, depth, and detail to an RP.
