error: character does not exist
I have been gone for quite some time now.
I came back and logged in fine last night.
I tried again this morning though and get the message that the character does not exist.
Thanks for any help.

Uhm, Arien?
Your character will not stay forever, I hope this message does not discourage you. Due to technical reasons (refer to the latest newsletter), it will be necessary that a charwipe takes place. This will not happen tomorrow, but within the next few weeks / months.
You can keep your character's name and his race, but concerning skills and inventory, you have to start from the beginning.

Will it be the case that only the original creator of a character will have access to the name after the character wipe?
So if there is a character called, for example, 'Naybet Grint' after the wipe people who know him will know it is the same character and player, and can react to him the same after the wipe as they did before, or will friendships and enmities need to be built from scratch same as skills?

Only the original creator of a char can keep its name (at least that's how it is planned). You don't have to start from the beginning, it is just that the current character data is not compatible to the new stuff (database / accountsystem) that will be introduced.
But to second Arien's words, there is no "time limit", characters won't be deleted if you don't log in for a certain time. You can take a break anytime you want. Some people even find a roleplaying reason (i.e. a trip to a foreign country) and when they return, they tell stories of their trip.

Yes, the original creator will only have access to the name. The social environment and history of the char and the land should stay the same as before. But nethertheless you can start with a new char and personality, if you want.Naybet Grint wrote:Will it be the case that only the original creator of a character will have access to the name after the character wipe?
