serversweep countdown timer

Post by Gro'bul »

I am proposing there be a countdown timer to when the server sweep will be. Why? Mostly for convenience. Farmers would know when there crops were ready, so they do not have to worry about losing them. Cabbages take a good while to grow, so that would be helpful. Even though there are plenty of tables, people still use the ground trading alot, this would help avoid things getting swept while trading. OR, instead of having the clock accually count down, just update the "next server sweep time" every server sweep. So that it would say "next server sweep at: 12:10" then when it swept it would change to "12:13" or something like that. OR, just make it a set amount of minutes, and show the time the server started, and let the player figure out the next server sweep.

Good Idea.
But a question: Dosn't the things in tables disappear too? Or only after let's say two server sweeps.

Hmmm.... then I could lay a cape on the ground to looks in the sky and know when I have to pack it in so it won't disappear...

Oh yeah thats wonderfull for rp. Dont think so. This would be horrible for rp plus the whole server isnt on a global sweep scale if im correct ;) You lay a wand beside another object and in like one minute it is gone. Plus I have noticed ( IMO ) That the server sweep isnt always constant. Therefore you shouldnt be leaving stuff laying on the ground that much. ( Besides crops are easy. Just time them once and you have a general idea thereafter. ) Sorry but I truly dislike this idea. As bad as it was when you got this message...

Gannon has logged into Illarion :)

Gannon has left Illarion :(

( I know its not exact but it was ages ago sue me :P )

But you get the idea.

Thumbs down for me.

Yes time flows differently in Illarion doesnt it? ;) Besides it could only take mere moments for something to become dirty , or wet ground to ruin something. It isnt all about " Rotting " Your getting into those fuzzy lines of it being a GAME and realism in a game. Fuuuuuzzzyyy line :P

Maybe there should be something like a cheap poition (sold by Sam, the human) and/or a spell that you are able to leave items for one hour realtime.

Think on a quest, where you have to follow a murderer and he looses constantly items, because his backpack ist hit by a sword.

Or the old master that tells you: Follow the Angels to find me.
And he puts every screen one angelsblossom...

HOW, how would it be bad for rp gannon? Examples, not OMFG BAD RP, cmon. It is a convinience to the player, not the character anyway.
