Learned Rune but not really...

Right so my character Damien Connelly was taught the rune Kel by the eccentric hobbit Nilo. On Damien's magic skill it has Kel there with a little bit of red. But Damien doesn't have the rune.
I have heard this happen to a couple of other people.
So can it be fixed or am I going about this the wrong way?

Hmm... Kel is in my skills but not my runes, but I never read the book, so I dont know if its just me or whatever.

It is probably not meant to be that easy to learn. Maybe you need to keep trying. I have never used this method. Also a PM to th GM's might be a better way to discuss this topic. It could be considered spoiling if too much IG information is given out here.
