I guess the best answer we will get is that it will happen when it happens. I am no programmer, but I know how hard and time consuming it is to debug programs. The bigger the program the harder it is and longer it takes. Obviously the Staff will not release the new client until they are happy with it. Giving a timescale to something like that is like asking how long is a piece of string. It will happen. At this stage even the staff probably arent totally sure about the extent of the changes or when they will happen. So lets stop bugging them about something that can easily be sorted out later and let them get on with their project. The staff will tell us more when they know more. Until then speculating about anything is fairly pointless.
Just play the game. Enjoy it. When the change comes or gets close we will be told. At that time, with more information, we can decide what to do with the changes.
Basically it is necessary. It will happen. We work with it the best we can when it does happen and make the most of the opportunities/possibilities it creates. If old characters can be reworked to fit in....great. If not, new characters are created. Either way the game goes on.

OK the time when the wipe will come depends on different things. The new Hardware Server isn't one of these things. Important are the new accounts system, the new software server. The accounts system isn't far away from beeing complete. The testing state was some times ago, some bugs where found and have been solved. So the account System thingie is not as important as the software Server anymore.
With the new Software Server different things will be implemented.
- New DB System (done)
- Complete new Scripting System with different new posibilities. ( particulary done)
- different other things which are necessary for the wipe.
This are the really important things. But we also planned some other nice changes which not important for the whipe but we want to implement them in the same time to show you that Illarion is really improving.
For Example the new Map.

Don't expect wonders from us. It can be that illarion is a better world after the whipe, with fantastic new possibilities. Or it can be that you didn't see the changes at once. This all depends on the amount of progress we have made when all the necessary things are implemented.
I can say one for shure. It won't come tommorow or until next week. Maybe in a few weeks. Maybe in one or two months, but it will come.
