I can't see anything on the game

When I log on I can see the words of other characters and the inventory but the actual screen doesnt appear.someone please tell me why this is happening and try to give me a solution.

Try to download and install the newest driver for your graphics card and directx. This solves most of the problems

I can think of two other possibilties:

1.
You accidently copied the Exe-File instead of making a link to your desktop.

2.
You did make a link to your desktop, but the line "Run in:" is empty.
Enter the Illarion folder location there.

The client was messed up during download or something? If all else you could try to download and reinstall the client.
