From the Shadows
She awoke in the woods, quite disorentated. Her clothing was still smooth and clean, and her hair falling in long white strands over her shoulders and her ice blue eyes looking up into the empty branches above and the cool breeze that passed though them. She slowly got to her feet, holding her hand against the trunk of the tree to steady herself.
"Where..." She squinted her eyes open trying to brush off sleep. "Better question..." She said to herself. "When?..."
She took an unsteady step, then stopped feeling something different and looked down. Shock filled her as she shook lightly, she had hoped that it was just a bad dream, but it hadent been, and now she felt the new life pounding through her essense.
"It's been that long..." She whispered to herself takeing another unsteady step. "I can't remember a thing..."

The woman turned and looked at the new comer, her face showing no emotion. Then from behind her the shimmering images of two white wolves stepped from a mist that started to form around her. Also behind her stepped a young boy with short black hair and a bright red and orange tunic with black trim, he looked up at the woman. And on second look both the wolves and the boy were slightly transparent.
"Much to be done mistress..." The boy said to her and she nodded then looked back at the man, then the mists seemed to thicken and she vanished.

Jo'han walked thorugh the woods, calmly, his strides deep but cheerful. He whistled to himself untill his whistle started to fade upon seeing a thick mist sorround the woods. He took a few steps then spoted a figure and walked up to them.
"Odd night, isnt it?" He asked waveing his hand through the air as though he was trying catch the mist. He clenched a fist and the mists seemed to vanish, only for him to stare at it in shock, then to the now clear woods.
"That's curious..."

De'am looks out over the scattered forest clearings, and her gaze comes to a stop as four distant figures seem to ebb and slowly fade away, resembling two canines and two humanoids. For a snatchingly brief moment, all four appeared clearly, but soon vanished without a trace, abandoning the forest to its unmoving silence once again.
De'am blinks, and looks at the wine bottle in her hand.
"Hm... I do wonder what Tzi's put in this one. It must be awfully, awfully strong, whatever it may be."
She shrugs with a wide grin and takes another hearty swig.

She wanders from the town again, wanting to go back into the woods. Things were bothersome, and she could feel the life within her, liveing, breathing... she almost felt sick.
Time rushed by as she walked, untill she passed out in a pile of dry leaves under a large tree where she lay for a time that she didn't know.

The battle had raged for days now, with no pause to gather the dead, nor to breathe. More innocents than soldiers and militia littered the ground, bodies strewn out in the dried and dying grasses, and out in the fields, thrown over carts like rag dolls, even the small fragile bodies of the young boys who had taken up arms to fight the intruders.
Other bodies littered the ground, strangely shaped bodies, with bright wide dead golden eyes staring past jagged claws and long blood drenched fangs. Their bodies much like that of the wolf. These intruders had come before, their numbers small at first, only causing a few fires, and a few missing village men and women, but nothing like this. Nothing so devastating.
Her father fell to his knees in a pool of blood, as a rotten black claw finished tearing through his chest, ripping deep in past now shattered ribs, and into the chest cavity, where it took hold of a still beating heart, and in one swift movement, ripped it clean from the mans body; his corpse fell to the ground, as still as quiet wind that filled the valley. The beast screamed a shrill scream of personal victory as it raised the heart to the sky, the muscles still beating, and the blood still pumping futilely, sending waves of thick red blood down the creatures arm. And with that, the flesh met the beasts yellowed teeth as it feasted on it's victory, a young child's teddy bear, with a missing button eye, hanging from the creatures other hand, the corpse of a young girl lain tossed on the ground not far from this scene; the intruders path of death continued.
“Sister!” The scream of a young boy reached out over the deafening sound of the battle as he raced towards the beast, a shovel in hand and his dirty face streaked with tears. The creature turned with a sickening grin on it's face as the child approached, and as the teddy bear hit the ground, he drew a spiked chain from around his waist and whipped it at the boy in a viscous manor; the chain stopped the boy cold as it quickly spun around his neck, the cold black steel spikes embedding into the boys neck, he wavered for a moment, before crumpling to the ground, in his own building pool of blood. The creature ripped the chain back, the boy momentarily spinning in the air from the chains sudden momentum, and as the spikes ripped back to the beast, the child's neck was shredded. His body lay still, near the limp and lifeless body of his sister as the beast slowly moved on.
Inwë watched, as though looking in thorugh a window into a tavern, she could do nothing as she watched her father fall again, and the young boy who had tried to fight the creature. Her face held no emotion, untill the thin mark of a tear fell down her cheek. She took in a shakey breath, still watching this untill...
She awakes with a start, her body shivering and she looks up thorugh the trees, and whipes the tear that had fallen from her eye away.
"Why do I feel?..." She questioned herself in a whisper as she lay in the leaves. "Never has that bothered me, I watched, I knew... but I did not care...so why now?"
She sighs as she sits herself up; then regains her dark air about her, her eyes shimmering gold for a moment.
"Better yet... why..." She pulled herself to her feet, one hand on her stomach and one on the trunk of the tree she was under. "...do I keep passing out?..."
She looked down to see the young lad standing by her side, and he shruged then vanished softly like morning mist.

She took a step onto the docks, pulling a strand of her hair out of her face. Then pullled a letter from her cloak and handed it to the young boy who stood beside her. The letter was labled "Callith", but she did not speak.
She took another step along the docks, then another, and another untill she walked aboard the ship that seemed to await her. The sails fluttering in the ocean winds. Her wolves ran up the deck and onto the ship to her, and the boy nodded softly, then vanished in a soft mist.
She looks back out over the seas and sighs as the ship leaves port, and heads away from the island.

She takes in a deep breath then frowns, leaning over the rail, the winds blowing her cloak and hair out behind her, then in swirls infront of her again, the high sun beating down upon the decks as the crew ran about working.
"Oh how I hate leaveing behind unfinished buisness..." She mutters to herself as she turns away from the sea and back towards the main mast where she looked up into the huge white sails, shimmering in the sun.
"Back to port!" She spat as she headed back to her cabin.
"But misstress..."
"Do it, now... things have changed..."
The man bowed and started yelling out orders to the crew and the ship was turned round.
The little lad walked up to her and waited.
"Go back, tell who ever needs to know, that I am returning, for now. Maybe Callith will get to keep his child after all..." She said calmly walking past him down under the decks.
"As you will my lady..." The youth bowed, then dissapeared in the nood day sun.
