"Tea" Party

Post by Delakaniam »

Near the infrequently frequented orchard just a close distance beyond the town borders, the elfess Delakaniam walks alongside the translucent waters of the stream. Leaning across to her side briefly, her amber eyes cast a glance to small aquatic creatures darting between the cattail reeds beneath the ripples. De'am finally approaches the grove and walks into the patchwork of shade and sunlight beneath the fruit trees. Her sigh quietly breaks the silence of all but the murmuring of running water. No one is in sight, but sight can be limiting, even for the elves.

But it's nothing to fret. Where there is one twin, surely there is the other.

Tzi joins her after a few minutes hefting a weathered but ornate wineskin. She sets it and an equally worn bag against a tree. From the bag she pulls a cloth-wrapped bundle which reveals a tea set. She carefully sets out the tea service on a patch of moss. There is room for several more people. Tzi spreads her cloak out and sits. She fills her tea-cup with a cheery-looking liquor and sips it.
She grins and asks "Do you have the tea?"

De'am turns an expression of mock surprise to her sister.

"Oh? And amongst a complete tea set and endless supply of liquor in your fantastical bag of everything, you haven't any tea?" She mirrors Tzi's grin. "Tea I have, sister mine, but..." The elfess muses a moment, "Tea is simply so... ordinary -- alone by itself. Therefore, I shall happily provide the tea should you, Tzi, provide... all else necessary."

De'am winks as she pulls an old but ornately engraved cylinder from her own bag. An appealing fragrance wafts forth as she slides the lid off.

"Sister, I am shocked!" Tzi replies in mock-surprise at De'am's insinuation. "Are you suggesting I waste this excellent wine on a cup of tea?" Tzi hands her the wineskin as she protests. As De'am fiddles with the preparations, she looks around. The area is still empty around the orchard, though every now and then she catches snatches of conversation from the town. "Think anyone else will come? Tea-parties aren't much fun with just two..."
Tzi finishes her cup of wine.

Gannon stands in the workshop in front of the stove. He is wearing a leather apron so he doesnt burn himself while he tirelessly blows his bottles for his concoctions. After a what seems no time to him he stops and smiles at the crates full of fresh clean bottles next to him. After putting them away he walks out to the stream with some clean clothes and washes up. The water felt very good after the intense heat. While he dries himself with a clean peice of fabric he happens to hear something coming from the woods. Walking toward the sound he spies to ladies drinking tea. As he takes in the sight he hears from one of the ladies. "Think anyone else will come? Tea-parties aren't much fun with just two..." Well Gannon had heard many party invitations before. That was one of them. So with that he walks to the nearest depot and dresses himself in some nice pants and a shirt. Then takes out his party cloak. A dark green color with some gold ornimentation along the edges. The last thing he takes out is a barrell the size of a small pig. Carrying the barrell to there wonderfull spot he smiles and bows to the both of them. " Well my dear ladys I do belive I heard you say this was a party? Is it invitation only or is it free for anyone to join? "

The elfesses turn their heads in one cannily matched motion as the voice approaches behind them. As one looks back politely, the eyes of the other brighten in recognition of the guest. A grin spreads across her face before she speaks. “Aye, but if it would be by invitation only, I daresay you would certainly be invited, my good Gannon. However, as we put into our minds to believe that good tea should be a happiness to spread, I believe you have no need of concern over invitations anyway.”

As the man walks forward, she passes a grin to her twin and both elfesses lean slightly to look at the barrel tucked beneath his arm. The sly smiles that appear are mirror images.
