RESOLUTION!!! - I cant run the game!!

Post by Gunther Hermann »

I have a good computer which i know can run this game. But my monitor cannot go any higher than 800*600 pixels.

Isnt there any way for me to play this game at that resolution??? every time i run the game i get an error which i looked up on the technical section and says u gotta have 1024*800 pixels.

This is really annoying me so is there any way which i can get the game to work...

ANYWAY which will help it to work would be much appreiated.

Maybe try (re-)installing DirectX 8.1, or get a new graphics adapter.

I'v always used 800x600 resolution and have not come across any problems. I think you should take Astral's adivce.

Even if microsoft may say that DirectX will cause wonders to your computer, I doubt, that installing DirectX 8.1 will cause your monitor hardware to be automaticaly upgraded. Also installing a new graphics adapter shouldn't change too much to the monitor.

Hallo

illarion is a directx FULLSCREEN game and this means it can ignore your desktop resolution.
this means it doesnt matter what your dektop resolution is (for example 640x480x8 or 1600x1200x32) only your hardware has to support the required resolution.

perhaps you can hear the switching from your monitor (sounds like *click click*)

Bye

I've got a similar problem. My resolution ist 800x600 too, because my monitor doesn't make more. It's it is possible to run the game and to connect the server - but get a "triple-screen" than. Unpossible to play this way.

I think I have to wait for a new monitor - or for other solutions by the program.

Bye,

Dycon.

your monitors were standard about 10 years ago. illarion cannot run on computers of this age, sorry. the next one asks to make it compatible to his pocket calculator...

Hmm... the screenshots actually seem to represent any 10-years-ago standard too, couldn't it match together? never mind.

the monitor is the device of the computer that brings the information of your pc to your EYES. and thats why the monitor should be the part of your pc on which you should spend the most money.. thats my oppinion. everything under 75Hz will ruin your eyes in time and i would better use a modern 100hz monitor..
